When now President Barack Obama flubbed the lines of the inaugural oath yesterday (with a little help from Chief Justice Roberts) the symbolism of the stumble did not escape notice from those of us who doubt his devotion to the Constitution.

Ultimately, however, President Obama did promise to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution, just as all of his predecessors have.

It's Day One of his administration, and he's already failed in his duty to preserve, protect, and defend the document that binds us together as a nation.

How could that be, you ask ?

Despite the political timidity of Republicans to challenge him on this issue (not one Congressman and one Senator, as is allowed under Federal Law rose to challenge his electoral college vote on January 6, 2009 when a joint session counted electoral college votes), our new President has failed to offer sufficient proof to demonstrate that he is, in fact, natural born as the Constitution requires.

I have in my previous post on this issue outlined the additional evidence President Obama needs to produce to satisfy skeptics that he is Constitutionally eligible to hold the office in which he now serves.

Every day that President Obama refuses to produce this evidence, to my mind, he is showing his disdain for the Constitution. We'll learn soon enough whether this is a never to be repeated blip, or if it's merely the first in a series of assaults on the Constitution.
