Will IL GOP be reformed?

So, there's a bill in the state Senate right now called SB600 that would allow for a return to the direct election of GOP state central committee.

If you're a grassroots Republican in Illinois, you generally support this.  If you're a useless shill, you're politically leveraged, or you're part of the problem, you think it's a bad idea.

If you're not sure who's who, take a look at this from The Champion.

And if you're wondering what's wrong with the GOP in Illinois, all you have to do is look at the names of the people who oppose letting members of their party select the people on state central committee (who in turn choose the party's Chairman).  There's few names on that "oppose" list but they're awfully powerful.

If you live in Illinois, I strongly urge you to contact your state Senator and express your support for SB600.  Because while the people on that short list of people who oppose giving you the right to choose party leadership are your party leadership, the idea is that they are supposed to be working for YOU and delivering political victories for YOU.  As opposed to just sitting back and enjoying the view from their perch.
