We Need our Own Nigel Farage

Nigel Farage, the Leader of the UK's Independence Party addressed French President Nicolas Sarkozy, in July of 2008; he pointed to  Sarkozy's  "sheer arrogance of thinking that he knows what is best when it comes to the European Project" and stated that Brown was ”showing contempt for Democracy" .  What Farage was expressing is, that when the people have spoken, to go against the wishes of the majority is arrogant and possibly destructive.

Last month, Farage accused UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown of putting his European Dreams ahead of the needs of the UK's working people.  "You have devalued democracy, you have devalued the trust the voters have in you..."  Gordon is coming under steadily increasing criticism, even from his own party.

Ireland said no to the Lisboa Treaty.  They want free trade but they do not want to be part of the European Union.  PM Gordon Brown proceeded to  force it through Parliament anyway, and the voters are angry.  He continues to push ahead with political initiatives and a socialist agenda while his voters, with whom he was formerly very popular, continue to disagree; the initiatives do not "sit right" with them.

Does this have a familiar ring?

Farage is speaking his mind and the people of the UK are cheering him on.   Finally there is someone with the ability to speak up and confront their Prime Minister head on.  The UK now knows what Prime Minister Gordon is up to and they cheer Farage to speak on their behalf.  They know that PM Gordon is pushing through his own European Pipe Dream, his personal agenda which is to build a legacy at the expense of the UK.

So we need our own Farage to speak out for the people of this country.

While our President is on his European vacation, his wife is enjoying her European fashion show, and our own media are covering the "What Not to Wear Parade", we have Americans killing each other here in the USA. Why?  Because they are losing their jobs, they are very frustrated, and, as to the American Dream, they are feeling utterly disenfranchised.  This is a sad and unfortunate state of affairs.

Obama is fearful.  He is fearful not only of a bipartisan stimulus plan but also of true citizen involvement.  This is deliberate bullying of the American people, pushing aside our opinions silencing the voices of the people and the minority party.

More than 13 million Americans are now out of work.

Mr. President, you need to be home taking care of the USA’s economic crisis.  Your job is here, without the teleprompter, without the rhetoric. Your  work is here at home.

Nobody but Oscar de la Renta  seems to care if Michelle wore a cardigan to meet the Queen or not.  I personally will not waste intellectual energy on it,  it is not a priority.  I will even give the President a pass on "I-Pod-Gate".

Again, I simply do not care; we cannot stand on ceremony when our country is facing such serious problems.

We can not afford a President focused elsewhere, while urgently needed at home.  He would have been better served putting this trip off and sending a competent Hillary Clinton  to do his work.  But, alas, he continues to campaign so canceling the trip would not have served his ratings concerns quite so well.

Where is America's Nigel Farage.
