Energy legislation, now headed to the Senate, and healthcare, being debated in both houses.  Both issues of great importance and could have a profound effect on the American economy.  I do not believe we can afford to pass socialized medicine or Cap in Trade and find our way out the recession.

The debate over healthcare will intensify tomorrow as the Medical Society of the District of Columbia holds a forum Tuesday with physicians currently serving in to discuss health reform legislation currently debated in Congress.  The MSDC forums give physicians, nurses, and patients the opportunity to ask questions and voice their concerns over directly to members of Congress who are also physicians. Opening remarks will be given by Dr. Joseph M. Giordano, George Washington University Hospital trauma team leader for President Reagan in 1981.  More than 150 physicians and patients are expected to be in attendance for the town hall meeting. This is a great opportunity for you to become educated on the debate over healthcare and gain a better understanding of the issues surrounding healthcare debate on Capitol Hill.
