Today's top-two primary election marks the first of its kind for our state. Secretary of State Sam Reed is predicting 46% voter turnout with 90% of ballots expected to be cast via the U.S. Postal Service.
There will be a thorough reading of the tea leaves tonight as both sides spin results and manage expectations. Check back this evening for a Red County rundown.

It's kind of a weird feeling when you voted three weeks ago. I have to admit, driving into Seattle today I was listening to the radio (770AM - Glenn Beck!) and thought to myself, "What the hell are they talking about? The election was last month." Things sort of sneak up on you.
I was very impressed with the woman who told an interviewer that she regularly votes for the candidate with the "goofiest sounding name." Anyone else think we should have a democracy instead of a republic any more?
On the down side, she's probably already locked in on Barack Obama, but on the plus side, Dino Rossi can probably count on her vote. (Look, I love the guy, but we can never, EVER, forget that he was named after the Flintstone's pet. It's decisions that parents make like that one that eventually force young people into politics.)
