Genius!! What a great move. Hillary supporters come on over.
I can't stick around to comment, since I have 18 assignments due by Next Wednesday-- oh, and my school year as a teacher starts on Tuesday, but I don't think this is necessarily going to pick off all of Shrillary's support.
Let's be reasonable here. I don't think democrats are THAT different from Republicans and other conservatives. I could care less about gender in my national leaders. I want someone elected that shares my values.
Do you really think the pro-choice, pro-socialized medicine, gun-grabbing leftists are going to abandon their party for a pro-life, anti-socialism, fiscally conservative shooting enthusiast just because of her GENDER?
I know that most of the people voting for B. Hussein Obama are voting for him because he's black, which is racist. (What? Why else would you vote for someone with no experience, no fiscal discipline, and no foreign policy?) Quite a few of Hillary's supporters were voting for her because she was (theoretically) a woman.
HOWEVER, I simply don't see that many people walking away from their ideology just because McCain chose a chick. Look at the way the liberal media portrays Condaleeza Rice. They've attacked her as a woman, as a black, you name it, and all because of her POSITIONS: she is conservative and therefore she is evil. Gender and race become just another tool to use against her, as she can now be portrayed as a betrayer; betrayer of her race because she doesn't support reparations and other attacks on whites, and betrayer of her gender because she's not pro-choice.
We'll have to see where this goes. I think it's a good pick for VP, but I also don't think we're going to snag Hillary's camp quite as much as everyone wishes we would. Most of those people were dumb enough to vote for Hillary in the first place; they're dumb enough to follow her directions and vote for Barry.
