Gregoire's Operatives Harass Rossi Campaign: "Taze 'em!"

Posted by: Angie Vogt | 08/15/2008 9:14 AM

By now, you've no doubt seen the headlines. "Rossi Team Ejects Cameraman!" The newspapers and liberal media are hissing their contempt and warning about "things to come" in what will surely be a contentious race. Those suspicious Republicans! They're always keeping us in the dark with their corruption and back door deals! The horror.

So here is the real story, despite what local media (KOMO's version and the Times version) are reporting. According to Joe Pioli, a Seattle police officer who attended the invitation only event (off duty), it was held on private property and was sponsored by the Seattle Police Officer's Guild (SPOG) for the purpose of formally announcing their endorsement of Dino Rossi for Governor.

As people were arriving, an official vehicle with the Washington State Patrol Troopers Association (WSPTA) parked nearby with the president of that union (Tom Pillow) and the well known democrat cameraman, Kelly Akers inside. They displayed a large "Gregoire for Governor" sign from the vehicle.

Akers, who follows Dino on the trail everywhere and uses his footage to create attack Youtube video ads, was asked to leave by one of the SPOG members and informed that he was on private property at a private event. Pioli said that he went out of his way to tell  Tom Pillow that he respected his right to support Gregoire, but that his behavior, as the president of his union, is unprofessional.

No surprise that the local media uses headlines that immediately indict the Rossi team. No Rossi staff members were involved in the physical removing of the cameraman. Off duty police officers were the ones taking the initiative to inform Akers and Pillow that they were trespassing on private party and causing a disturbance.

Personally--I say , "Taze 'em BRO!"

Of course, for those of us that were there...there's way more to the story than either side has told so far.
Even after the cameraman was told not to come into the building, he bulldozed his way in. He started a huge, purposeful commotion right when Dino was asking for a moment of silence for the firefighter who was being buried that day. Deliberately edited out of the video were the dozen or so polite requests from someone in the Guild asking him to leave. He flat out refused and purposely disrupted the event. Of course that part was edited out!

Then he exaggerated his words to draw attention to the fact that he was being removed. This entire episode was specifically done to the disrupt the SPD endorsement press release.

Oh, Governor, your desperation is showing. Again.

Hard to get the truth about anything in this race. But I say we taze her too, because with our money, she is obviously out of control.

SPOG & WSPTA rock too!

Would this be the same Tommy Pillow who changed the words to "Louie, Louie" into a love song at a Gregoire campaign event?

The same Tommy Pillow who wears his duty badge every where he goes with Gregoire, and stands behind the Governor like the good campaign prop that he is?

SPD needs to know that the WSP road troopers do not sanction or condone Tommy's actions. His ego as of lately is becoming as large as his gut. While Gregoire has been good to the WSP and we do support her, selling out our Brothers In Blue is shameful and disheartening.
