Congress contemplates second stimulus bill

When did public welfare get renamed "economic stimulus?" The Wall Street Journal reports today that House Democrats are considering a second stimulus bill -- this time they want to inject another $50 billion into the economy in another round of checks to middle-income folks. The article says the bill will not enjoy the bi-partisan support the first stimulus package had.
Okay, I have a confession. I received a stimulus check earlier this year. It was a nice figure because I'm married with kids. For a nanosecond I contemplated sending it back -- on principle, you know. Economic woes aside, it smelled like Robin Hood redistribution to me. But a car payment, gas prices, and my kids' college savings accounts convinced me to deposit the check.
This time around, here's my message to Congress: If you have enough to give it back to me, don't take it in the first place!
