In yet another indication of who gets to influence the direction of our state, a recent Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) report reveals not only how much money Dino Rossi and Christine Gregoire have raised, but more importantly, where the money comes from.
While Gregoire's cash on hand surpasses Rossi's slightly, 26% of her money comes from out of state special interest groups ($1,086,500) and the state Democratic party ($695,000). In contrast, almost all of Rossi's money has come from Washington state residents, with only $40,000 from the state party and $120,553 from out of state donors.
Of contributions from Washington state residents and businesses, Rossi has $5,188,000 million to Gregoire's $5,124,000 miliion. He has raised in six months what Gregoire has done in three years.
In May, Rossi raised $640,000 from state donors while Gregoire received $585,000. These are their totals without the state party donations included.

I have to agree with you Angie. I have been pointing this out over on the sound politics blog for the past month now. I am just glad to see that the Rossi campaign has taken notice of it too and is starting to point it out to people.
My question is what do the out of state contributers expect to get as payback and how will that benefit the people of the state.
