Norby Defeats The Ackermans
By Allan Bartlett | 11/18/09
The race for the 72nd AD is finally over. Supervisor Chris Norby has defeated Linda Ackerman and the Republican establishment by an almost 2 to 1 margin when it's all said and done. There are so many things to talk about in this election. First I want to congratulate Supervisor Norby and his team for running a superior campaign. He knew going into this election that it was going to get ugly early and often, but I don't... read more »

Sheriff Arpaio/Bill Hunt Event Roundup
By Allan Bartlett | 11/06/09
Sheriff Joe Arpaio is everything as advertised and more. It was very generous of him to come out from Phoenix to headline the fundraising event for OC Sheriff candidate Bill Hunt. Here's a flavor of what it was like... So I'm pulling into the parking lot before the event and sure enough there are lots of protesters and media outside the Phoenix Club. It looked mostly like La Raza types and local spanish media. They were... read more »

This is happening in... read more »

AD72 Special Election Watch: Brief Calm Settles Over The Race
By Allan Bartlett | 11/04/09
A temporary calm has settled over the race for the 72nd AD. In a noteworthy post over at Total Buzz, Martin Wisckol writes about a poll done this past Friday (as Matt Cunningham first reported on Sunday) reported by Linda Ackerman's Ed Roski's IE Alliance for California's Tomorrow. The results of the poll have not been released, but it's a pretty good bet that the numbers were just not there for Linda. The mailboxes have been... read more »

A breathtaking Halloween party was held for OC politicos at the home of Jim and Kellie Bieber on Saturday night. Linda Ackerman Should Resign From Being An RNC Committeewoman
By Allan Bartlett | 10/27/09
As California's female representative to the Republican National Committee, Linda Ackerman is supposed to be a leader in helping to rebuild our party and to get the GOP message of smaller goverment out to as many as possible. She is now running to get elected to the State Assembly. In the course of campaigning, she has mailed some fliers to Democratic households as I noted yesterday on this page. In these mailers, she... read more »

AD72 Special Election Watch: OC GOP Ethics Committee Process
By Allan Bartlett | 10/26/09
To say that the OC GOP Ethics Committee process is arcane and unwieldy would be an understatement. I'm new to the Central Committee this term and I'm still trying to learn all of our procedures and by-laws. I do however have some real world experience volunteering for and writing about campaigns since 2004 when I started up my own blog. I have seen the rough & tumble of how competitive primary and general election... read more »
