BIOGRAPHY
I was born in Brooklyn New York in 1939 the year World War II started. I am married with two sons and three granddaughters. I joined the N.Y. National Guard when I was in my last term of high school and I graduated from Grover Cleveland HS in 1957. I served in the U.S. Air Force on active duty and the New York Air National Guard in the reserves from 1957 until 1962. I was stationed in Germany and although I was in the Air Force I was stationed with the infantry and tanks. I had two uncles in WWII, one in the European theater and the other in the Pacific theater. Two of my cousins were in the navy (one in the Korean War) and one who was in the Navy in Vietnam (although he served with the Marines) and later with the NY National Guard and served in Iraq for close to two years.
I went to college on the G.I. bill and attended Pace University in New York. I graduated with a B.B.A. in Economics. I also graduated from the New York Institute of Finance with a certificate in security analysis. I taught Night College at State University of New York, Farmingdale Division. I was the Director of International Personnel Services for the Institute of International Education and traveled in Europe, South America and Africa while providing pension, health benefits and insurance benefits for food development centers and disease research institutes around the world. I then worked for the Pension Boards U.C.C. as Director of Member Services an executive officer position for 19 years. I designed, developed and administered pension plans, health insurance plans and life and disability programs. I retired in 2005 and have since worked with the Sarasota Election Boards as a poll worker and the Republican Club of South Sarasota County.

Tom Tryon's Misguided Article
By Frank Patti | 11/17/09
Tom Tryon had an article in the Sunday Sarasota Herald- Tribune “Go Right or Do Right”. The title of the article about Governor Crist says it all. If you are conservative you are wrong and in order to do the right thing you must be liberal. He goes on to say that the Governor was widely popular earlier this year but his popularity has since dropped. Maybe if they took the poll of only Republicans he would... read more »

Honor Our Men and Women in the Service
By Frank Patti | 11/10/09
They came from farms, from the small towns and the big cities. They came from the West Coast the Midwest and the East Coast. They were drafted or they volunteered but they came to serve and defend their country. They fought in Europe, the Pacific, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. They served and stood for the defense of Europe, Korea, Bosnia and Kosovo. They flew bombers over Germany and Japan and manned the... read more »

The Democrats Passed a Mess of a Health Plan Bill
By Frank Patti | 11/08/09
Well the Democrats passed that mess of a health plan bill tonight. All the Democrats lined up and one RINO Republican who may be looking for a new job next election. Those “BRAVE conservative” Blue Dog Dems who were contemplating for months how they would vote because the bill was not popular in their districts lined up like little sheep and voted for it because they got some vague guarantee that abortion will not be... read more »

Lies and the Venice City Council Race
By Frank Patti | 11/07/09
The voting is over and I am very happy that Emilio Carlesimo won a Venice City Council seat over the very arrogant Ted Kozarski. God forbid that Venice elected a TV producer for a councilman after the left wing junk we see on TV. However this is not the victory that I wish to discuss; it is the defeat of Harry Walia that is so disturbing. Harry was defeated by lies, innuendo and smear tactics perpetrated by the Democrats... read more »

Mudslinging in the City of Venice Race
By Frank Patti | 10/26/09
Harry Walia has lived the American dream of an immigrant coming to America working hard and making his fortune. As the people in Venice know Harry is running for the city council against Jim Bennett and the race has gotten kind of nasty. First of all I always thought that Jim was a nice person and a gentleman although I don’t agree with his politics. I was surprised when people in his campaign dragged out the fact... read more »

Marco Rubio and Charlotte County, The Other side of the Story
By Frank Patti | 10/23/09
Tuesday I was invited to the West Charlotte Republican Club to hear Marco Rubio speak. When I arrived I was told that Marco had withdrawn from speaking that evening due to a conflict with the Club and the scheduling of a debate instead of a solo speech by Rubio followed by a question and answer period. Some of the members were quite angry and the way it was presented by the Club speaker was that this was just Marco withdrawing from the... read more »

Bill Nelson's Vote on the Health Care Bill
By Frank Patti | 10/14/09
Today on Fox News we heard from our distinguished Senator Bill Nelson. He not only approves of this 1,300 page health care bill but also wants the government run public plan option. It does not matter that in poll after poll the public including his own constituents do not want a public option he will follow the liberal line and vote for it. It is ok that costs will increase for insured citizens, that there will be... read more »

David Letterman Exposed
By Frank Patti | 10/09/09
I usually feel some sympathy for someone who makes a mistake and is embarrassed before the public. After all, everyone has done something in their lifetime that they would not want published on the front page of the New York Times. You would not have to worry about this unless you were a Republican as the N.Y. Times would refuse to print anything about a Democrat or any other liberal. That much said, I am more than happy to see... read more »

Letter to the Vencie Gondolier
By Frank Patti | 10/06/09
The Following is a letter that I wrote to the Venice Gondolier regarding one of their articles that I believed was unfair. In your article “Unfunny things happening on the way to forums” you indicated that the Republican Club of Sarasota County was incorrect in calling our September meeting a forum for the Republican candidates for the Venice City Council. We never indicated that this would be a debate and yes we advertised it... read more »

Obama's Record
By Frank Patti | 10/04/09
Well we did not get the Olympics even with all of President Obama’s charm. I guess the Olympic Committee looked at the crime rate in Chicago and did not accept the President’s apologies for the United States being such an inconsiderate country. Of course this was all President Bush’s fault and now with our messiah in office we will have everyone’s goodwill. With all the problems in this country,... read more »
