Bay Co. R.E.C. passes resolution opposing Gov. Crist's support of stimulus
By Eric Wall | 03/09/09
The Bay County Republican Exec. Committee has passed a resolution against Governor Crist supporting the stimulus in such a public way using some pretty strong language. Here is the text of it. I voted for it and I signed it as Secretary. This won't help our relationship with RPOF, but the Republicans of Bay County, Florida are very unhappy and as their representatives we let the Governor know that is exactly how... read more »

Gov. Crist must reach out to conservatives
By Eric Wall | 03/03/09
It's good to be back at Red County. I know it's been a while.I opposed the stimulus because of philosophical differences. I feel that government spending only creates debt. Are there any private investors out there willing to take a chance on America? Just wondering. I can only hope there are no strings attached to that money. I feel that unfunded federal mandates are an irresponsible abuse of power and should be ended.I was not surprised that... read more »

Republican Liberty Caucus of Florida 2008 year in review
By Eric Wall | 01/15/09
Written by Philip Blumel Monday, 12 January 2009 00:00 Like 2006, 2008 was a year of reversal for the Republican Party nationally. After an 8-year, unprecedented expansion of government here and abroad, the voters soundly rejected our party's leadership, handing both the Congress and the presidency to the Democrats. Meanwhile, the libertarian Republican RLC stayed true to the more traditional... read more »

Mark Cross on his failed run for RPOF Chairman
By Eric Wall | 01/14/09
I would like to thank each and every person who supported me in the race for the Chairmanship of the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF). I was disappointed I could not win the Chairmanship but I feel very excited and encouraged by the results. First of all this was a very difficult race to win, because there are not a lot of things that volunteers can do to help. This was a person to person race, normally decided by money and... read more »

Ron Paul endorses Mark Cross for RPOF Chairman
By Eric Wall | 12/18/08
Mark Cross is a personal friend of mine and in my opinion would make a fine RPOF Chairman. We serve together on the Republican Liberty Caucus board. I am currently an At-large member and Mark is the Treasurer. Mark is an accountant by trade and served as the Florida coordinator for Ron Paul 2008, doing an outstanding job under the circumstances. He is also currently the State Committeeman for Osceola County, south of Orlando, where Disney World... read more »

Republicans must work better together in Florida
By Eric Wall | 12/09/08
This is my first post with Red County and I think that the concept is an excellent idea and I am grateful for the opportunity. Now I can follow trends across the state and the nation much more easily in one place. I am in a unique position to report on the development of the post-Bush Republican Party in Northwest Florida, one of the most conservative parts of the nation. There is a strong military presence here. McCain won here, with over... read more »

One-On-One with Eric Miller, Candidate for RPOF
By Eric Wall | 12/06/08
Here are my top three:1. Establish a Party Platform for the RPOF. I believe that we have become too factionalized and we need create more dialogue and debate. From Debate comes dialogue and from dialogue come ideas.I firmly believe that the platform needs to be a grassroots efforts starting with each County REC and the Republicans within that county contributing. A top down platform will not serve as means of unity or realistic representation of... read more »

I Asked Myself a Few Questions on Bay County Politics
By Eric Wall | 12/06/08
What are the lessons you learned from the 2008 McCain campaign in Bay County, Florida? learned that we have a lot of highly motivated, well-informed and enthusiastic volunteers, led by Teresa Eaton, Glen Leirer and Melissa Hagan, that really rose to the occasion when money was hard to come by in difficult economic times. They all deserve our profound thanks. I am proud to associate myself with these fellow Republicans that are genuinely... read more »
