Will Fullerton City Council do the right thing tonight?

By Thomas Anthony Gordon | 05/05/09

The Fullerton City Council may well vote this evening on it's very own "Renaissance" plan that will stomp on private property rights, blow valuable taxpayer dollars and deem a large swath of Fullerton as blighted. The OCGOP invested roughly $ 19,000 in the last election cycle to ensure that Shawn Nelson and Richard Jones beat the Democrat opponents and held onto a slim 3-2 Republican Council Majority. Recently, The OCGOP Central... read more »

100 days in office-A decade of debt

By Thomas Anthony Gordon | 04/29/09

Today, after 100 days as Leader of the Free World, President Barack Obama disavowed any responsibility for our huge budget deficit. He claimed "Number one, we inherited a $1.3 trillion deficit" Really? Congress controls the wallet, not the president, and it was under Democratic control for Obama's last two years as Senator. Obama supported President George W. Bush's TARP package, and he wanted to make... read more »

Will Stimulus Money Lead to Actual Education Reform?

By Thomas Anthony Gordon | 04/09/09

Is there anyone who actually thinks that the $44 billion in education stimulus aid handed out by President Barack Obama will translate into education reform, better schools or increased graduation rates? Not really. Some school districts, such as Santa Ana Unified School District, recently decided to dumb down the educational process by decreasing the amount of credits needed to graduate. Instead of demanding more from the students, they have... read more »

Sheriff snatches CCW of Mike Schroeder

By Thomas Anthony Gordon | 03/20/09

Has she lost her mind? Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens notified Mike Schroeder, former chairman of the state Republican Party, that she is terminating his permit to carry a concealed weapon. He plans to fight the Sheriff, legally if need be. And I suspect that many gun owners, gun rights advocates, and folks who actually support the Constitution will join him. Madison Nguyen and the recall effort

By Thomas Anthony Gordon | 03/03/09

For elected officials who have lost their way and abused their power, the ultimate consequence is being recalled. It is the ultimate form of democracy. That is why regardless of what side wins the battle tonight up in San Jose, the real winners will hopefully be the residents of San Jose.Madison Nguyen tried naming the Story Road area Vietnam Town Business District to benefit Lap Tang, owner of Vietnam Town Mall.
