BIOGRAPHY

Nick was born in Athens, Greece in 1934 and naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 1967 in Alexandria, VA. Educated at Athens College, Athens, Greece (private, American-run, secondary school), 1944-51); Hackley Preparatory School, Tarrytown, N.Y., 1951-53; The School of Foreign Service, 1953-58, and the Graduate School, 1959-1962, of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Between 1957 and 1989 served as officer of International Monetary Fund and subsequently of Organization of American States in Washington, D.C. with extensive field work overseas. Wrote numerous reports in several languages on socio-economic development problems and nation building efforts in Third World countries. Married Jean Maxwell Barker in 1960 in Washington, D.C. Three adult children and six grandsons living near Washington, D.C. Retired to Sarasota in 1989 enjoying sailing, writing on current events and participating in patriotic events. Three adult children living in the Northern Virginia area, whom he and wife visit in summer.

WHO HANDED THE WHITE HOUSE TO OBAMA

Like Ross Perot put Clinton in the White House by taking Republican votes away from Dole, in this election, more than anything else, three individuals unintentionally created the conditions that enabled Obama to win the presidency. OBAMA TEAM REPRESENTS "CHANGE"?

The president-elect now has taken his first action on his road to "change". He has just named his Chief of Staff and his transition team. I looked at the who's who expecting some all-new, "post-partisan" faces.
