BIOGRAPHY

I am a born and raised farm kid who is a strong values voter. The 2008 presidential primary season was the first time I ever supported a candidate in every way. By doing this, I got to see that these social conservative values that I stand for are slowly being eroded away by Republicans who are more concerned with the party than their own principles. I will no longer just check the Republican box during an election. The legislature in Iowa needs to go back to the traditional values that once made this a great state. Second to none schools, strong families, respect for all human life, and a society where God is not pushed or prohibited, but instead always apparent. This is why I am here.

Holy Cow! Is that the Huck-a-Bus?

By Iowans Rock | 11/10/08

I have often wondered what happened to Mike Huckabee's campaign bus.  This tour bus for his book looks vaguely familiar.  It is amazing what a paint job can do!  Huckabee will be in Iowa on November 20th to promote his new book. What We Need to Do

By Iowans Rock | 11/07/08

The Iowa Senate Race in the Waterloo area (district 10) is a perfect example of what the Republican party needs to do better.  Get out the vote early.  Walt Rogers is one of the strong conservative candidates featured by The Iowa Brigade and at the end of election night he was ahead of the incumbent Democrat, Jeff Danielson, by 90 votes.  What an upset!!!!!!!!!  But now that provisional and absentee ballots have been counted... read more »

Congratulations

By Iowans Rock | 11/06/08

I would have wrote this yesterday but I felt like a truck had hit me.  Wait, I am a member of the GOP so a truck actually did hit me yesterday, a big blue truck.  First of all, congratulations are in order for President-elect Barack Obama.  While I disagree on what Obama stands for, I can agree that his election demonstrates a healing for America and displays why we are still the greatest nation on earth, and we can no longer... read more »

Iowa HD 9 Call to Arms

By Iowans Rock | 11/03/08

Iowa House District 9 is special, why?  Because it is the most Republican district that is currently held by a Democratic representative.  McKinley Bailey ousted the Republican incumbent for district 9 in 2006 during the Democratic monsoon, and Jamie Johnson is the Republican challenger in 2008 who will take the district back.  Mr. Bailey is up for his first re-election and it is up to the voters in this... read more »

The Modern Day Phoenix

By Iowans Rock | 10/31/08

Reports have been coming out about the unprecedented amount of absentee ballots and early voters in Iowa coming heavily from the Democratic side.  This news coincides with the final chapter of my unprecedented journey in this years election cycle.  Eight years ago I had really no idea why I was a Republican until my boss and I sat down over drinks the night of the 2000 Iowa Caucus.  Funny part of this story is that I had... read more »
