BIOGRAPHY
I am a born and raised farm kid who is a strong values voter. The 2008 presidential primary season was the first time I ever supported a candidate in every way. By doing this, I got to see that these social conservative values that I stand for are slowly being eroded away by Republicans who are more concerned with the party than their own principles. I will no longer just check the Republican box during an election. The legislature in Iowa needs to go back to the traditional values that once made this a great state. Second to none schools, strong families, respect for all human life, and a society where God is not pushed or prohibited, but instead always apparent. This is why I am here.COMMENTARIES
Huckabee and Steve King Attending Fair Tax Rally in Columbia, SC
By Iowans Rock | 04/07/09
On one of our nation's darkest days, April 15th, there will be a huge Fair Tax Rally in Columbia, SC. What a perfect day to say "goodbye" to the IRS and "hello" to the Fair Tax. The economy has hit the skids and the only true way to stimulate it is to eliminate tax on productivity and instead put tax on consumption. Americans should not be penalized for working hard and making money but... read more »

Marriage and Federal Deductibility: The Perfect Storm
By Iowans Rock | 04/03/09
I could wallow in my disappointment of the ruling legalizing same-sex marriage that was handed down today in Vamum v. Brien by the Iowa Supreme Court, but I will choose not to do so. I could trash the members of the Iowa Senate who failed to get the Marriage Amendment on the ballot in 2006 even though Republicans had the majority, but I won't. I can even start pointing the finger of blame at those of you who call yourself... read more »

Huck PAC to Launch New Website April 1
By Iowans Rock | 03/30/09
Governor Mike Huckabee's political action committee will celebrate its one year anniversary in April. Huck PAC had a lot of successes last election cycle, but they want to push harder in promoting conservative candidates and issues, such as limited government, tax reform, 2nd Amendment rights, life, and family, nation wide. Huck PAC has gained momentum with the grassroots and the new website will be a way to corral and... read more »

In Defense of Iowa's Small Schools
By Iowans Rock | 03/27/09
I am proud to admit that I graduated from a small Iowa school district with twenty-seven students in my class. As a student I filled my day up with subjects that I needed to have to get me into college. There were the extra classes that I would have wanted to take, but my schedule did not allow it. Those who were not on the college track had enough classes to keep their interests also, but they were often encouraged to consider the... read more »

Culver Thought Obama's Inauguration was Yesterday in Des Moines
By Iowans Rock | 03/24/09
According to The Iowa Republican, Governor Culver's health care forum yesterday (at the request of his master, President Obama) was $40,000. It seems he put on quite a show in order to get some ideas for health care reform that can be passed on to Washington. While it is an honor for Iowa to be chosen to be part of something like this, does it need to cost us $40,000? Especially in times such as these when spending and taxes need to... read more »

Huckabee: Saving Towns, Conservatism, and Paul Harvey's Time Slots
By Iowans Rock | 03/23/09
Mike Huckabee completed his first stop on his "Save This Town" tour in which he visits five different cities hit hard by the economic downturn. On Saturday he was in Elkhart, Indiana, taping his FOX News show Huckabee talking with the citizens on how they are trying to save their town. Elkhart has the highest jobless rate at 19% and it is where President Obama first announced his Stimulus Package. It is known as the RV... read more »

Bob Vander Plaats Gives Strong Performance on IPTV
By Iowans Rock | 03/17/09
Bob Vander Plaat's opened up his interview on IPTV's Iowa Press by saying, "I can win." He knows that education and health care reform are winning issues in the state of Iowa and wants to put all counties into play for Republicans. He is relying on faithful supporters from his previous campaigns plus the new people who he has gained backing from through the 2008 Mike Huckabee campaign, and the support some of his campaign staff will bring in... read more »

Strike 2 Mr. Steele
By Iowans Rock | 03/12/09
Michael Steele sure knows how to kick himself when he is down. He was one of the subjects of my post recently regarding the recent disappointments in the Republican party; pro-life failures, RINOs, and the Jerry Springer moments in GOP chairman vs talk radio host. I didn't think things could get any worse until Steele uttered these comments to GQ. How much of your pro-life stance, for you, is informed not just by your Catholic... read more »

Matt McCoy is Tim Gill's Puppet
By Iowans Rock | 03/10/09
Funnel Week at the Iowa Statehouse is nearing the end and Democratic State Senator Matt McCoy has introduced SF 353, "An act creating a religious freedom and civil marriage protection act, providing a repeal, and providing effective dates." This bill repeals Chapter 595, Code 2009, which currently defines marriage as between one man and one woman and replaces it with Chapter 595 A, which defines "marriage" as civil marriage which is a... read more »

The Week That Was for Conservatives (I'm glad it's over)
By Iowans Rock | 03/09/09
And what a week it was. Not only has President Obama promised my tax dollars to abortion seekers outside of the U.S., but now he will be using my money to fund embryonic stem cell research. (He said that he wants "science" to lead his administration and not "ideology," and if that's the case he needs to take a refresher course because science says that a human life is formed at conception.) However, I'm not sure what I am... read more »
