BIOGRAPHY
I am a born and raised farm kid who is a strong values voter. The 2008 presidential primary season was the first time I ever supported a candidate in every way. By doing this, I got to see that these social conservative values that I stand for are slowly being eroded away by Republicans who are more concerned with the party than their own principles. I will no longer just check the Republican box during an election. The legislature in Iowa needs to go back to the traditional values that once made this a great state. Second to none schools, strong families, respect for all human life, and a society where God is not pushed or prohibited, but instead always apparent. This is why I am here.COMMENTARIES
Freedom of Speech Only Applies to Those Who Don't Believe in God
By Iowans Rock | 08/20/09
We live in the greatest country on earth where we cherish life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and boast the First Amendment to our Constitution as being the best thing about being an American. However, when it comes to the topic of religion or lack thereof it's those who profess to believe in the Christian God who seem to get the shaft when it comes to the freedom of speech. One example that has happened lately on this... read more »

Huckabee Taking a Stand Against Obama in Israel
By Iowans Rock | 08/17/09
After the taping of his Fox News show on Saturday Governor Mike Huckabee left on his eleventh trip to Israel. One of his first stops on his visit was a reception at the Shepherd's Hotel in east Jerusalem and this stop will be part of a larger tour around the country that is going to highlight opposition to recent US policies, in particular President Obama's demands that Israel halt construction on settlements in east Jerusalem. ... read more »

Stephen Burgmeier for Iowa HD 90
By Iowans Rock | 08/04/09
The resignation of John Whitaker (D) in Iowa HD 90 has left a vacant seat and the special election to fill it will be on September 1. This district includes Van Buren County and parts of Wapello and Jefferson Counties. While this is a Democrat leaning district, in light of what has been happening it could very well turn into a swing district. Stephen Burgmeier has received the Republican nomination for this district. He and... read more »

Democrats Care About People (Unless You are an Old Person or a Baby)
By Iowans Rock | 07/27/09
The other day I saw a bumper sticker on a car that said I vote Democrat because they care about people. I just had to laugh at the irony of it all. Care about people? Really? The recent poster child for "caring about people" is the aide to Democrat Representative Paul Tonko of New York who admitted while talking about the health care legislation that she gets paid to read the bill for Tonko. I guess caring... read more »

Governor Culver May Fib; Numbers and Bob Vander Plaats Do Not
By Iowans Rock | 07/13/09
Governor Culver says the Iowa budget is fine. He claims the $161 million shortage isn’t there. He said he believes in marriage between one man and one woman and would do everything he could to protect it. He thinks I-Jobs will save Iowa but what will we do when the money is no longer there? He’s a high school teacher but our education system is in the toilet while continuing to receive more and more money. He thinks bankrupting... read more »

Governor Huckabee Endorses Marco Rubio for US Senate
By Iowans Rock | 06/23/09
Huckabee has just announced his endorsement of principled conservative Marco Rubio of Florida for US Senate. The Republican establishment has already backed Mr. Rubio's primary challenger, Governor Charlie Crist (RINO), and it is time to show the GOP that we stand for principles first and party second. Here is what Huckabee said in a recent Huck PAC newsletter. We knew when we started Huck PAC that our task would not be easy. Huck... read more »

Iowa's Bob Vander Plaats is Mike Huckabee and Chuck Norris Approved
By Iowans Rock | 06/14/09
Last week Governor Mike Huckabee was in Iowa to formally endorse his 2008 state campaign chair, Bob Vander Plaats, for Iowa Governor. The event turned out a large number of supporters and gave a huge financial boost to the Vander Plaats Campaign. I am one of the Iowa Team Huck State Coordinators and I volunteered my time to help with this amazing event. During his speech Huckabee stressed Vander Plaats' deep convictions... read more »

A Tale of Two Shootings
By Iowans Rock | 06/08/09
Over the weekend it came to my attention that there may now be a federal investigation of Dr. Tiller's murder by the Department of Justice because they believe that Scott Roeder, the killer, may not have acted alone. Seriously, one crazy guy gets in his car and drives to Tiller's church to finish him off and then leaves again doesn't really sound like a conspiracy. It sounds like just another day in America when someone goes off... read more »

Governor Huckabee Returns to Iowa
By Iowans Rock | 06/05/09
Since winning the Iowa Caucuses Governing Mike Huckabee has been showing his love for our state. He was the keynote speaker at the state Republican convention and the Iowa Family Policy Center fundraiser last summer. He then returned in November after the election to make two stops on his book signing tour for Do the Right Thing. After recently topping another Republican 2012 poll, Huckabee will return to Iowa on June 10th to... read more »

What is Actually Being Highlighted with Tiller's Murder?
By Iowans Rock | 06/02/09
I have been reading statements from various pro-life and Christian organizations denouncing the actions of Dr. Tiller's murderer and I agree that the death of Tiller at the hands of another citizen outside of the legal system is inexcusable and needs to be punished to the fullest extent of the law. However, Dr. Tiller was a mass murderer and I will grieve for him no more than I would have grieved over the death of Adolph... read more »
