2000 Rally To Permit Illegals To Steal Jobs From Citizens
By Danny Garner | 02/28/09
Now you know why I don't write the headlines for a mass market newspaper. The real sub text of the story is Democratic legislators rally with illegal alien supporters to allowed the continued stealing of jobs from citizens, during what they term as the worst economic situation since the Great Depression. It seems the Democrats want it both ways or really three ways. They want all of the jobs here in America to be under union control while out... read more »

Atlanta Tax Protest
By Danny Garner | 02/21/09
I woke up to find this on the web this morning and it seems to be a very interesting proposal. I know conservatives aren't all that skilled at organizing these sort of things, unlike our liberal counterparts who have decades of experience at such things, but I am just encouraged that these sort of protests are starting to catch fire on the right. The Atlanta Tax Protest is still in the early stages of planning, but is geared more towards being a... read more »

Johnny Boy Needs A Challenger
By Danny Garner | 02/18/09
Johnny Isakson (R-GA) has officially announced that he is once again going to run for the US Senate, not that there was ever any doubt.I railed against Chambliss during his reelection bid because of his support for the Shamnesty legislation and his stabbing the House Republicans in the back by being a part of the Senate energy compromise gang, and Mr Isakson was also a part of both of those. In his last reelection bid Isakson was challenged by... read more »

In Georgia we have a state funded program for college scholarships called the HOPE scholarship. It is funded by our state run lottery program. While the lottery program is experiencing record levels of revenue some questions are arising about it's ability to continue funding the HOPE scholarship program. What is missing from this article about the shortfall is one of the main reasons this is occurring. From it's inception, the HOPE scholarship... read more »

Rep John Lewis (D-GA) Introduces Bill Outlawing Teen Angst
By Danny Garner | 02/03/09
Rep John Lewis (D-GA), who was last seen comparing John McCain to George Wallace, has introduced a bill into the House of Representative entitled H.R. 789: To reduce and prevent teen dating violence, and for other purposes. It is always that "other purposes" that you have to look out for. Now the title of the bill certainly lays out a lofty goal, but I was curious as to how it was that the powers to be in Washington DC were going to... read more »

In what is bound to set off a torrid debate in the state we have a state senator who is proposing school vouchers for everybody.A Republican state senator wants Georgia to become the first state in the nation to offer vouchers to all school children.Eric Johnson of Savannah introduced legislation on Monday that would allow parents to use roughly $5,000 in state tax dollars to send their child to any public or private school in the state willing... read more »

Rep Paul Broun's Stimulus Proposal
By Danny Garner | 01/30/09
Representative Paul Broun (R-GA/10) has proposed an amendment to the stimulus package that of course never saw the light of day in the Nancy Pelosi led House but is intriguing none the less. Maybe somebody over in the Senate can pick up the ball and run with it. Are you paying attention Mssrs Isakson and Chambliss?Briefly, Broun's amendment would take the $825 billion that would be allocated to various initiatives and divide it equally among the... read more »

One day I may grow tired of writing about the woes of Clayton county, and quite honestly it is too easy, but they never seem to understand what is the root cause of their problems. This story is about a shortage of funds the county school system is facing because of students not paying for their meals, but there is an underlying story here. The article of course is meant to elicit a sympathetic response to the plight of the possibility of kids... read more »

UPDATED: Scroll to the bottom to see Rep Gingrey's response to the criticism he has received over this matter. In an interview yesterday with Politico Rep Phil Gingrey (GA-11) stepped into the dust up between Rush Limbaugh and Barack Obama. Cobb County Refuses To Pay Grady Hospital Extortion Money
By Danny Garner | 01/27/09
I used extortion in the title because that is exactly what it is. Grady hospital is a major hospital in the city of Atlanta which handles a lot of indigent patients. Patients who either have no insurance or have Medicaid. Grady Hospital has a long history of mismanagement that not only affects the level of healthcare it administers but also is reflected in its administrative practices. I have personal insight into Grady's abysmal... read more »
