Hunter Hill, Another American Who Has Fought For You
By Danny Garner | 10/23/08
I have been a supporter of Hunter Hill, Republican candidate for the GA state senate, in the Georgia sixth congressional district, for a long time. I have even had the privilege of meeting the man, and in my opinion he is worthy of your vote. The current incumbent is a Democrat, Doug Stoner. I keep saying I live in a blue corner of a red county, and it is time, dare I say it, for change.Hunter has a commercial airing locally which no doubt most... read more »

By Danny Garner | 10/23/08
Just when you think this election will be over on November 4th and you will be able to sit back and either lick your wounds or spend some time patting each other on the back, along comes a story like this.We could be facing a runoff election for our Senate seat that is up for grabs between Saxby Chambliss (R), the incumbent and the Democrat challenger Jim Martin. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Community (DSCC) has dumped $500,000 into... read more »

By Danny Garner | 10/21/08
Georgia has 5,598,425 registered voters and so far this election cycle 691,507 have cast their vote. That works out to 12%. Now this article goes on to do the usual breakdown by demographics, but the part that needs explaining is where it talks about the 5 counties with the highest turnout so far. Those counties are:1. DeKalb 68,091 2. Fulton 50,050 3. Gwinnett 37,6134. Cobb 37,2775. Chatham 21,251Let me explain the signifinance of these... read more »

My Vote Cancels Colin Powell's Vote
By Danny Garner | 10/20/08
So, Colin Powell has endorsed Barack Obama. That don't impress me much.I served in the Army while Colin Powell was rising through the ranks. Since I was enlisted, if our paths ever crossed I would have saluted him. There is however one place where we are equal. That is the ballot box.Personally, I wish Mr Powell would have sat this one out, but given the volatile nature of politics in America recently I guess he felt a need to weigh in.Why is... read more »

Smooth Move DSCC
By Danny Garner | 10/19/08
The DSCC is the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Ever notice how the Democrats form committees rather than coalitions or some other name? I guess using the word collective would make too plain what their real political leanings were.Anyway, the DSCC is pumping massive amounts of money into the campaign of Jim Martin, the Democrat candidate to oppose Saxby Chambliss for his senate seat. In so doing they aired an ad which falsely portrays... read more »

More Sharing The Wealth, er Water
By Danny Garner | 10/17/08
Florida's 27 electoral votes apparently are more important to Barack Obama than water for the largest metropolitan area in the southeast.First a little background. Georgia, Florida, and Alabama have been having an ongoing war over water resources. The recent drought just exacerbated the problem. The main source of water for the 3 states is Lake Lanier in Georgia, a man made reservoir. Over the summer we were required by law to continue releasing... read more »

We Are All "Joe the Plumber"
By Danny Garner | 10/17/08
Meet my "Joe the Plumber". Joe Keller of Mableton turns a wrench for a living and says there's no more American way to earn a paycheck. The former high school football player lives with his wife and three children, goes to a Baptist church on Sunday -- and is suddenly enjoying a split-second of serendipitous fame. Although Joe Biden doesn't have any plumbers in his neighborhood, it seems the rest of us do. Our local paper recently did a piece... read more »
