GA May Require English Only For Drivers Test
By Danny Garner | 04/01/09
Now why is Georgia scheduled to be the only state in the union to require people taking the written test for a drivers license to have the test administered in English only? I don't know how many of y'all drive or maybe leave your house on occasion but can you recall seeing any highway signs that were bilingual? If the signs are in English only, unlike Canada where everything is in French and English. I can't believe this is just now coming to... read more »

Rall In Support of HR 470
By Danny Garner | 03/22/09
Saturday there was a rally in support of state sovereignty and HR 470 in Georgia which affirms the states rights granted under the 10th Amendment of the US Constitution. I was glad I attended. The weather was great for a change. Most weekends here locally have been marked by the badly needed rain but this day was bright, sunny, with just a few wisps of clouds on the sky and just enough nip in the air to get you honest. This rally was... read more »

Georgia Legislature Vetos Bill Honoring Obama
By Danny Garner | 03/19/09
On the surface this was a simple little resolution simply acknowledging the election of Barack Obama as President and a honorary lifetime membership into the Georgia Black Caucus. Things were going fine until Rep Austin Scott (R-Tifton) objected. It is this portion of the bill that Rep Scott objects to. “WHEREAS, throughout his political career, President Barack Obama has enjoyed an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, vision, and passion... read more »

Rep Scott Demonstrates How To Draw Circles
By Danny Garner | 03/18/09
My representative, David Scott (D-GA) got his two minutes in front of the cameras at the circus today that was the hearing for the current AIG CEO. Rep Scott is one of Nancy Pelosi's favorite lap dogs and thanks to her I was made aware of this video. Hey part of fighting this battle against the liberals is keeping an eye on what they do. Anyway while Mr Scott starts off by saying he has some direct questions for Mr Liddy, he winds up spending... read more »

School Vouchers Defeated In Georgia
By Danny Garner | 03/12/09
State Senator Eric Johnson (R-Savannah) had proposed a bill that would extend the current Georgia school voucher to a larger audience and of course the government school teachers couldn't allow such a thing to go forward. They began lobbying hard against it and as a result the bill has been pulled.Funny ain't it how teachers and the teachers union will argue vociferously for tax dollars to fund them but if those precious dollars are going to go... read more »

Cobb County Honors Their Heroes
By Danny Garner | 03/12/09
Heroes exist everywhere. The most apt definition I have seen has been to describe heroes as simply ordinary people during extraordinary things. That seems to be the best way to describe a hero. Most don't seek it, rather they have it thrust upon them. Heroism is often times just as much an act of moral courage as it is physical courage.Recently Cobb County recognized some in our midst, both in and out of uniform, who performed amazing acts. It... read more »

Taxes On The Agenda in Georgia
By Danny Garner | 03/09/09
The Georgia state legislature heads back into session today and the hot topic this week will be taxes. Tax breaks and tax increases both. The state continues to struggle to improve it's revenue stream in light of the current economic conditions and with the state having a higher unemployment rate then the national average it is becoming harder and harder to be talking tax breaks. The Republicans are still going to pursue a couple... read more »
