BIOGRAPHY

Fred Edwards has been a military journalist and columnist for 15 years. He was Senior Associate Editor of Armed Forces News from 2000 until 2008, when he became Special Correspondent. His six books include The Bridges of Vietnam: From the Journals of a U. S. Marine Intelligence Officer, and The Buffie Brigade. A retired Marine Corps lieutenant colonel, Fred holds a Freedom's Foundation George Washington Honor Medal for his essay, "Freedom has a Price." He has completed graduate-level courses from the Marine Corps Command and Staff College and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, and is currently enrolled in a master’s program in military studies at American Military University. He is a former national board member of the Military Officers Association of America, and a past president of a regional chapter of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers.
