We Remember, We Honor
By Angela F. F. Davis | 06/06/09
We Remember, We Honor I am moved, always, by the D-Day Anniversary ceremonies, when we pause to remember and celebrate the allied forces storming the beaches of Normandy to liberate France, and eventually Europe. I think I have a special reason to respect and understand that the sequence of events may have been far different were it not for the bravery, courage and honor shown by those men sixty-five years... read more »

The Governor’s Own Party Says He Is Irrelevant
By Angela F. F. Davis | 05/29/09
Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick is now uncertain of his standing and is polling; a quick check of the numbers indicate that they are not looking so good. Democratic State Senate President Theresa Murray recently referred to him, the Governor from her own party, as "irrelevant". Recent Rasmussen poll confirms only 34% approve of the job Patrick is doing while 65% disapprove. Only 33% of his base claim they would vote for him again.... read more »

State Representative Elizabeth A. Poirier: a Study in Strength and Courage
By Angela F. F. Davis | 05/13/09
One special woman is speaking with a forceful voice against and through the Babel on Beacon Hill. That woman is Massachusetts State Representative Elizabeth "Betty" Poirier, (R) of the Fourteenth Bristol District who serves as the Assistant House Minority Whip. I dare say that women on the national front could learn a thing or two by watching her in action. She displays transparency, resilience, a laser-guided... read more »

Wheels for Welfare
By Angela F. F. Davis | 05/08/09
One would assume that if a state is in fiscal meltdown, the taxpayer sees more tax hikes on the horizon, and the unemployment rate is cresting 8.9 % , that perhaps the mere thought of adding more fat to the welfare budget is not even a concept. Wrong. It's "Wheels for Welfare" in Massachusetts, brought to you courtesy of Governor Deval Patrick. Peel back the tab on that sweet deal and we... read more »

Who's Afraid of the Massachusetts Legislature?
By Angela F. F. Davis | 04/28/09
Last night while you were tucked safely in bed, the Democrats in the Massachusetts House of Representatives pinched hard earned cash from your wallet by voting to raise our taxes. 108 to 51 was the vote, pushing our state sales tax from 5 percent to 6.25. Preceding that move, Governor Deval Patrick sent a memo out to all House members that he would ready his veto pen for any vote to raise taxes. This was a posturing move, taken... read more »

An Evening with Brilliant & Inspiring Sununu
By Angela F. F. Davis | 04/18/09
Last night I had the privilege of attending a Rhode Island GOP Fundraiser where the guest speaker was the honorable former New Hampshire Governor and White House Chief of Staff John Sununu. Sununu served under Bush Senior from 1989 to 1991. Governor Sununu hit a homerun with his speech, talking about work of the utmost importance that confronts the Republican Party. He clearly understands that we have one of the worst... read more »

We Need our Own Nigel Farage
By Angela F. F. Davis | 04/05/09
Nigel Farage, the Leader of the UK's Independence Party addressed French President Nicolas Sarkozy, in July of 2008; he pointed to Sarkozy's "sheer arrogance of thinking that he knows what is best when it comes to the European Project" and stated that Brown was ”showing contempt for Democracy" . What Farage was expressing is, that when the people have spoken, to go against the wishes of... read more »

RUN BABY, RUN: Calling all Massachusetts Republicans!
By Angela F. F. Davis | 03/31/09
The Democrats in Massachusetts are still playing politics as usual with continuous corruption, the favors-for-friends game, and handouts to Beacon Hill insiders. You just can't make this stuff up. Simply read one of the daily political columns in the Boston Herald for the catch-of-the-day corruption. Everyday you can read a new sham by our Governor or the elected officials in his party. This is playing a major part in the civil... read more »

B.C. Says "NO" to William Ayers
By Angela F. F. Davis | 03/29/09
William Ayers will no longer be on the list of guest speakers at Boston College. Unknown to B.C. officials, students on campus had invited Ayers to come and speak this week. His invitation was to address the College Democrats and Informed Democracy groups. Ayers is a terrorist. He has supported and condoned violence as a way to have a voice and impact the world. Now, he... read more »
