BIOGRAPHY

Gary is Director of Sales for a leading developer of e-Learning based business solutions, headquartered in Portland, OR. His formal education was completed at Indiana State University. Although Gary is a native Hoosier, he lived in Orange County, CA, from 1978 to 2005 and he considers that area to be "back home". Now a resident of Vancouver, WA, Gary has found the move from the political environment of Orange County (the nation's Reddest County) to the very Blue political environment of the Portland, OR/Vancouver, WA area, to be quite challenging. However, he remains determined that Conservative views are heard, regardless of his circumstances.

Brian Baird's Career Politician’s Approach To Health Care Reform

By Gary Wiram | 07/27/09

Based on articles appearing this past week in The Columbian, based in Clark County (WA) and The Chronicle, based in Lewis County (WA), Brain Baird (D-WA-03) is taking his typical Career Politician’s approach to the Health Care Reform legislation currently being considered by Congress – i.e. Pontificating from on high about the best way to put this under government control and to throw more of our tax money at its challenges. And even... read more »

A Brilliant Future for Washington’s 3rd Congressional District – Meet Jon Russell

By Gary Wiram | 07/25/09

Earlier this month, I posted an article on how the 2010 race is shaping up for Washington’s 3rd Congressional District. In that article, I stated that “it appears we are going to have a great opportunity, in this regard, with the field of candidates that is emerging.” Since posting that article, I’ve taken the opportunity to meet with one of those (three) candidates … Jon Russell, who formally announced his... read more »

In WA's 3rd Congressional District, The 2010 Race Is On!

By Gary Wiram | 07/12/09

- Our Opportunity to Gain a Representative We Can Trust With Our Tax Money - As the 2010 election season approaches, especially considering the performance of the 110th and 111th U.S. Congress, it strikes me that there will be no more important issue to consider than “Who will we trust when it comes to spending our tax money?” That’s certainly the most important question for voters to consider where I live, in... read more »

A Look Inside the Portland Tea Party and a Visit With Geoffrey Ludt

By Gary Wiram | 07/03/09

Earlier this year, when “Tea Party” events began to pop up across the country, I was particularly interested to see how the “Tea Party” movement emerging in the population-center closest to where I live (Portland, OR) would do. Considering how challenging this very Blue local political environment has been for me, I knew that the Portland Tea Party would be in for more of an “uphill battle” than other... read more »

What Does a “Bleeding-Heart Conservative” Look Like? - Why the Answer is Critical for 2010/2012 -

By Gary Wiram | 06/17/09

On my Twitter Bio, I describe myself as “A Bleeding-Heart Conservative”. As you might expect, I’m often asked to provide my definition for that description. And, when I’m asked for this, it’s not uncommon for the inquiry to be accompanied by the question, “Is that like a 'Compassionate Conservative'?” … I get the impression that many don’t like that label due to its association with Bush... read more »

Baird Takes Credit For Plan, Endorsed By Boehner, But Gives No Bipartisan Support

By Gary Wiram | 06/04/09

On May 14, 2009, U.S. House GOP Leader John Boehner (R-OH-08) endorsed a mandatory 72-hour public review rule for all major spending bills. In making his endorsement, Representative Boehner referenced this as a rule “advocated by nonpartisan organizations … a coalition of reform minded state legislators”, etc. In an article regarding the 72-hour review plan, appearing in The Columbian on June 2, 2009, it was stated that... read more »

Lunatic Foreign Terrorists Brought Down The WTC Twin Towers   – GM’s Collapse Is A Fully-Domestic Self-Inflicted Wound My first visit to New York City’s World Trade Center was in 1979. The company I worked for, at that time, had a branch office on the ground floor of one of the buildings in the WTC complex so I was there on business. A few years later, in the mid-80s, I was there on business again. The company I... read more »
