Carbon Tracking is Here
By April Coggins | 10/17/08
In an unrelated article, I came across this little gem: The application allows users to track their carbon footprint by inputting when they enter a car or other vehicle. The application measures the time and distance traveled and calculations carbon emissions for the trip. The goal is to help users eventually lower their footprint. Color me skeptical but I am always suspicious when companies expect people to voluntarily pay good money to... read more »

Obama's Fraudian Slip
By April Coggins | 10/10/08
Obama is urging Ohio to vote early. And if that doesn't work, be a militant. We're coming around the turn,'' he said. "America recognizes that at this time in history, with so much at stake, with the economy nose-diving, with two wars and the threat of terrorism, the threat of climate change, we need to do something fundamentally different. And all of you are the shock troops." Obama acknowledged that his campaign is trying a new model of... read more »

Let's All Move to Chicago
By April Coggins | 10/09/08
The sheriff of Cook county is giving away houses! What a deal. Except they aren't his houses to give away, the houses belong to the bank. I do not understand why so many people in this country are eager to bring Chicago style lawlessness across the entire nation. And that is what we will get if Obama is elected. read more »

Obama's Only Experience is ACORN
By April Coggins | 10/07/08
Obama's ACORN is still pushing their fortune in Washington State. Luke Esser, state chairman for the Republican Party, said Tuesday that he was pleased to hear about the increased registration. But he singled out the activity of one voter-registration group as particularly troubling. "I think it's great as long as no one of them were turned in by ACORN," he said. Formally dubbed the Association of Community Organizations for... read more »

Obama's Community Organizing
By April Coggins | 10/07/08
Illegal and raided. The submitted voter cards included addresses and names that do not exist in Nevada, duplicate registrations, names culled from telephone books and names of Dallas Cowboys players, an investigator for the Secretary of State alleged in his affidavit for a search warrant. One ex-employee of ACORN reached by the state investigator told him she began making up names for her forms on days when it was too hot to work outside. ACORN... read more »

Local Bank Watch
By April Coggins | 10/05/08
I stumbled across this Seattle Times article in which one of the people interviewed mentioned that his stock in AmercanWest Bank had declined by 90%. I looked up their ticker on Yahoo Finance and sure enough, a year ago AmericanWest stock was worth $19.60 and today it's worth $1.60. Not a good sign. read more »
