San Bernardino County Grand Jury Publishes 2007/2008 Report

The San Bernardino County Grand Jury has just published it's 2007/2008 report. A large emphasis of the report is the Assessor's Office. Earlier today, Assistant Assessor Adam Aleman was arrested in a move likely timed to correspond with the release of this report. Increase in Democratic Voter Registration a Concern

Voter registration numbers in San Bernardino County have shifted significantly since the last major election, in 2006. Simply put, the Republican Party is losing voters in San Bernardino County, and the Democratic Party is gaining them. Also interesting is that every political party in the County, with the exception of the Democratic and American Independent Parties, has lost voters between 2006 and 2008. I first thought of the concept for this post when hearing of the highly publicized rate cuts made by Mercury Insurance, which were approved by Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner. Based on a number of factors, some 1.5 million cars will save about $30 each in insurance costs. Poizner has been discussed as a likely Republican candidate for Governor in 2010.
