Shots fired...
By Saulo G. Londono | 03/07/08
I've already written a post about the possibility of war in South America. The drama continues with the latest reports that Venezuelan troops crossed the Venezuela/Colombia border, fired shots, and walked back across.South American newspapers are starting to accuse Hugo Chavez of racketeering. One story points to the fact that Chavez has been losing support domestically for his social programs, so the simple solution: create an... read more »

War in South America?
By Saulo G. Londono | 03/05/08
Something looms in the horizon that deserves our attention. I think we should try and realize the importance of what's happened in the last 48 hours in South America. In a jist, the government of Colombia struck against a FARC campground across its border with Ecuador, killing the number two leader of the group (Raul Reyes). Claudio Luis Rodriguez at OJ chimed in, which prompted John Seiler to comment on it.... read more »

The Angry White Man
By Saulo G. Londono | 03/01/08
I just caught an interesting article that I thought I should share. It speaks about a demographic group that could possibly prove to be the decision-maker in this upcoming General. It was forwarded to me by an Angry White Man, in hopes I could share it with other Angry White Men. Americans can look forward to the election of either the first woman President, the first Black President, or the oldest President ever elected. Considering all that, one aspect of this cycle that not a lot of people have discussed is the possibility of the American people electing the most liberal President in history. ... read more »

Obama Watch: Name One Accomplishment
By Saulo G. Londono | 02/20/08
Are you kidding me? I saw this on the news earlier today and had to show it to the rest of you in case you missed it. This one really makes you question conventional wisdom. In this case the presumption that Republicans would rather face Hillary than Obama. Now, I agree that Hillary is a known commodity and Obama is not. I also agree that Hillary could unify the Republicans in a way that Obama would not. But I... read more »

Congressman McClintock?
By Saulo G. Londono | 02/20/08
The folks at Placer Red County have been covering the story of Tom McClintock testing the waters for a Congressional run. Take a read for some detail on his options. I won't get into the minutia of where he'll run but I'll certainly entertain the thought of having Tom McClintock in Washington. It seems to me like a much better fit for the State Senator than running for the BoE. His experience would be much... read more »
