Kevin James Uneven Performance
By Doug Boyd | 07/14/09
Radio talk show host Kevin James spoke to 80 members and guests of the Foothills Lincoln Club Friday at Annandale Golf Club in Pasadena. Much of it was very good. The former assistant Federal prosecutor talked of the need for conservatives to go on the offensive against Barack Obama and not be cowed by either his popularity or his race. Couldn't agree more. He spoke of the need for us not to let the left frame the issues so we are operating... read more »

The Los Angeles County Lincoln Clubs played host to GOP Senator David Vitter of Louisiana today at the venerable downtown California Club. The exclusive Members only complimentary luncheon event featured lots of hot or iced tea, their famous Honore Seafood Salad and a varied menu of spicy political topics including taxes, illegal immigration, foreign policy, candid discussion of California's U.S. Senators (very interesting) and what... read more »

The California Republican Party has called a highly unusual meeting of its Executive Committee for Saturday, April 18, 2009 at the Sacramento Convention Center. CRP Chairman Ron Nehring called the meeting to deal with massive GOP grassroots discontent over the California budget deal and its progeny, the propositions on the May 19th special election ballot. Twenty supporters of former Presidential candidate Ron Paul showed up this morning at the organizational meeting of the Republican Party of Los Angeles County (RPLAC) and demanded to vote. They were part of a statewide effort by the Paul campaign to take over local units of the GOP. Mormons & Obama Pass Prop 8
By Doug Boyd | 11/15/08
Move over Oscar and Felix, a new and even odder political couple made history November 4th by passing Prop 8 in California to restore traditional marraige. One did it on purpose and one didn't. The fastidiously organized Mormon Church got involved with the greatest of deliberation and with both feet. Republicans should take a lesson from the detailed ground game (GOP consultants - that means knocking on doors) put together by the Mormon Church... read more »

Sharp Objects and Tall Buildings
By Doug Boyd | 11/05/08
I plan on avoiding these things while sorting through the rubble of yesterday's electoral disaster. As the depth of it all was gleefully covered last night by the Democrat cheerleaders in the old media, I was staring at a big screen TV on the beautiful outside patio at "Red" restaurant in the Pacific Palms resort in Industry. A huge fire pit was roaring and waterfalls and pools were right next to it. Great setting for a good... read more »

THE SIX HUNDRED MILLION DOLLAR MAN
By Doug Boyd | 11/02/08
The latest federal reports show Barack Obama has blown through the six hundred million dollar raised mark in his presidential campaign and is on pace to exceed three quarters of a BILLION dollars by Election Day. That's more than Bush and Kerry combined just four years ago. So here's the question. Why isn't such unprecedented fundraising getting unprecedented scrutiny by our "watchdog" media? Why aren't they outraged that he won't... read more »

Sarah Barracuda Brilliant McCain VP Choice
By Doug Boyd | 08/29/08
John McCain's campaign pulled off a major coup and gave Barack Obama's post-convention bounce a flat by naming Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his Vice-Presidential nominee this morning. She is a 44 year old mother of five children whose reputation as a tough political infighter has earned her the nickname "Sarah Barracuda" around Alaska poltics.
