Big Labor Has A Plan For November: Put Democrats In Control

By Kevin Korenthal | 04/11/08

It's no secret that Big Labor has taken some hard hits over the last 2 decades. Probably beginning with Ronald Reagan's breaking of the Air Traffic Controller's Strike on August 5th 1981, Labor Unions have increasingly drawn the ire of Conservative-leaning America. Oddly however, even after Democrats (Labor's natural ally) took control of the White House in 1992, Union membership in America continued to fall. So Big Labor plans to take no... read more »

As Democrats Prepare To Remove Secret Ballot Elections, The People Have Thier Say

By Kevin Korenthal | 04/07/08

As Democrats prepare to make the case to the American people why they should continue to be in charge in Congress and add the Executive Branch to their responsibilities, I think it is time we talked about one very important policy that a strengthened Democrat majority and Presidency would result in.The Employee Free Choice Act of 2007 (known by detractors as "Card Check") is a piece of union-love that Democrats rammed through the Congress along... read more »

Los Angeles Carpenters Union Wreaks Havoc In Bakersfield

By Kevin Korenthal | 03/29/08

I don't even need to go beyond the county line to report on this ongoing story. Carpenters Local 1506 did that for us when they began some time ago to travel from Los Angeles to Bakersfield to commit their "Shame On" banner campaigns against lawful, quality contractors doing work on privately funded construction in Bakersfield, CA.The activity was merely a visual menace until the construction union began sending their thugs to a construction... read more »

Spitzer's Fall Surprises Me Not At All

By Kevin Korenthal | 03/10/08

By Kevin D. Korenthal. Cross-posted from SoCalPundit.com. New York Governor Eliot Spitzer's fall comes as no surprise to me. It's just like a Democrat that the married Governor was using prostitutes even though it was his previous job as attorney general to bust such schemes. In one such case in 2004, Mr. Spitzer spoke with revulsion and anger after announcing the arrest of 16 people for operating a high-end prostitution ring out of Staten... read more »

Real-Estate Agents Need Not Apply For Elected Office

By Kevin Korenthal | 03/07/08

By Kevin D. KorenthalA note to all Real-Estate professionals that are aspiring to public office; think again. The California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) investigation against Santa Clarita City Councilman Bob Kellar is a stark reminder of government's intrusions into the private affairs of those seeking elected office. The issue that has launched the FPPC investigation centers around an invasive requirement of candidates to list... read more »

CA GOP Convention Alert! City of Victorville Falls to Blackmail by Organized Labor

By Kevin Korenthal | 02/23/08

Reporting from the California Republican Convention in San Francisco, CA: Inland Energy, Inc. & The City of Victorville, CA hosted a very informative session on the dual-use-multi-modal node ("Inland Port") located at the South CA, Logistics Airport (formerly George Air force Base) in Victorville, CA. Too bad that the event also revealed that the project designers and the host city are acquiescing to the demands of "Big Labor" in... read more »

The Defeat of Prop 93 Brings Some Stars To The Batter's Box, Others Move On

By Kevin Korenthal | 02/07/08

By Kevin D. KorenthalBy far the two biggest reasons that Proposition 93 needed to go down in flames are named Nunez and Perata. Those two stooges have had their time in power, abused that power to the point of instigating investigations into their campaign spending and ethics violations, and are thankfully going to exit the State Legislative stage, at least for now.  But two other names are just as important reasons for the fake term limits... read more »

L.A. Companies Brace for Spread of Project Labor Agreements

By Kevin Korenthal | 02/04/08

Please pick up a copy of the print edition of the Los Angeles Business Journal (which I highly recommend to any politicos and business owners in the LA-area) to see this and many other important articles.By HOWARD FINE - 2/4/2008Los Angeles Business Journal Staff In difficult economic times, it might seem foolhardy to pass up contracts, but that's precisely what Dennis Furden is looking at doing. As chief financial officer... read more »

The Elitism of Big Labor On Full Display In San Diego

By Kevin Korenthal | 01/29/08

By Kevin D. KorenthalHere I go jumping county lines again...On January 10th the California Coastal Commission took up the issue of Woodfin Suites Harbor Island Resort. Bridget Browning, the newly elected President of the Hotel Workers Union in San Diego  was asked by Commissioner Kram whether she would want 70 hotel jobs to come to town versus no jobs, she said: "I would rather see zero jobs than bad jobs". The video is a little less than 3... read more »

Who Gives A Coot?

By Kevin Korenthal | 01/29/08

I reside in beautiful Santa Clarita, CA. The SCV, as it is known, is one of the fastest growing cities in California. But more than just people have been moving into the area. Man made lakes in the posh Valencia community of Bridgeport have attracted a a growing population of a bird that looks much like a small duck. Well the exploding "Coot" population has spurred residents to ask the HOA to relieve them of some of the Coot population. It... read more »
