Angelette provides much insight to what motivates Hispanics as well as the general market through her communications firm, AMG, located in Tampa, FL and Washington D.C. Her recent clients have included: the Buccaneers, The Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus, Supervisor of Elections, and The Hillsborough Republican Party.

Although raised in the Washington D.C. area, she received a Political Science degree from the University of South Florida. Angelette currently serves on the Hispanic Leadership Council of the Republican Party of Florida and participated as a panelist for their Hispanic Journalist roundtable last year while also serving as the County Chair for the McCain Hispanic Coalition.  She is also a member of N.A.L.E.O. (National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials).

The print and television media calls her upon as a respected source for commentary in regards to elections and politics from a Republican (Hispanic) perspective. She is a frequent Republican panelist on the weekly political talk show, “Florida this Week” and has contributed responses to Centro Tampa (Media General), St. Petersburg Times, Siete Dias, Creative Loafing, Univision, Fox-13 and Bay News 9.

In 2007, Angelette was selected as one of six women and the first Hispanic to participate in a statewide yearlong leadership program called the Tillie Fowler Series. She graduated from the scholarship-based program, once sponsored by the RNC, which encourages and prepares selected women leaders to seek new levels of involvement in government and politics.

Angelette also served as a Gubernatorial Appointee and only Latina on the Board of Directors for the Early Learning Coalition. Here she assists in overseeing an $80 million budget for Hillsborough County VPK (voluntary Pre-Kindergarten) and School Readiness.

COMMENTARIES

Sunday’s Crist/Rubio debate did nothing to change the mindset of current supporters. This theory is based on the comments and attacks made by those supporters on social media sites such as twitter and facebook during and after the debate. A couple of Crist supporters went as far as saying that Chris Wallace was “a terrible moderator.” Translation: I know Crist did not do so well, so let’s put the blame on someone else.

What will make the difference at this...

At the conclusion of the panel discussion several attendees expressed that it did not live up to their expectations explaining that they assumed that the panelists would go into detail on how to engage...

"The other guy has been running around the state, he does it all day long. I have no idea how he feeds his family when he does this all day long, but I know how I feed my family, by working for you being your governor."

There is this myth that Latina women can be a little feisty….well, today I will have to subject myself to that stereotype.  Yesterday, I uploaded photos and an article in Spanish on the new GOP website, specifically at http://our.gop.com/Angelette, which of course subjected me to public viewing and comments....

Everyone seems to be talking about a Hispanic backlash because of Republicans voting against Sotomayor. What backlash? It sounds like they are giving too little credit to Hispanic voters. Hispanics are not monolithic and single-issue voters. Today is just another day for my fellow Puerto Ricans after celebrating Sotomayor Confirmation with Arroz con Gandules and Alcapurrias.

Yesterday was Sotomayor’s reception at the White House but today for everyone in the real world it was...

While everyone is buried in the hype between the Crist-Rubio race or Sotomayor’s appointment to the Supreme court other party developments have been brewing which continues to solidify the growing concern of the GOP and the Hispanic voting bloc.  One has to do with several Hispanic leaders disapproving of Republican outreach and the other is a Democrat pinning Republicans as anti-Hispanic.
