Antoine Thompson channels Dr. Evil

Buffalo State Sen. Antoine Thompson does his best “Dr. Evil” impression when, at a press conference in Albany 7/2/09, he had trouble deciding the exact number of job losses from the current recession–467, or 467-hundred-thousand.

The part of Robert Wagner — not the ex-mayor or Board of Ed President/pal of Ed Koch — is played by fellow Buffalo Democrat Bill Stachowski.

Buffalo’s Bill Stachowski says he’s earning his $100,000-a-year salary, even though no work is getting done at the Capitol as a result of the Democrat-led standoff.
He’s been busy checking his email.
“I’ll read all the computer mail that I got,” he said, shrugging off efforts by Gov. Paterson to get the Senate back to work by making them spend their holiday weekend in Albany.
Meantime, the tab for the stalemate has topped $5 million.
