Romancing Divorce
To solve California’s problems,  Martin Hutchinson is making the argument that splitting up California is the right thing to do:

The proposed split is along economically and politically aligned groups, hence harmonizing fiscal policies, in an otherwise ungovernable state You can read details of Martin Hutchinson's rationale for this type of soultion here.

  • Southern Californian sans Los Angeles
  • Los Angels up to Santa Barbara
  • San Francisco plus Silicon Valley
  • Rural California

The idea is meritorious, particularly if you believe in what we have come to call President Reagan Principle:  bureacries tend to replicate exponentially with recklenass abandon, sucking the life out of any political system.  On the other hand, if you consider that government is the solution and not the problem, as the current US administration does, then this is a harebrained idea.

Shotgun Breakage
Then there is the notion of a bureaucracy realignment commission initiative, which we prefer. The idea is to close or at least combine some 80% of the government's cancerous commissions contained in the Reagan Principle.  This model is scalable and can be applied at any level of government, including the federal government.

Become Armed and Dangerous:
A related Idea that can be used in conjunction with the Romancing Divorce and or the Shotgun Breakage is to “Become Armed and Dangerous” – get a pocketbook copy of the Constitution. This movement we refer to as the C-Bag Revolt.  The notion is to derail the current view that there is not such a thing as state's right, or even First or Second Amendment Rights, for example.

From Seach and Destroy to Search & Rescue

Now that the Search and Destroy Mission (otherwise known as proposition 1A-1F) in California has come to a successful resolution , the Search and Rescue Mission starts – searching for creative ideas to throw 80% of the bums out, and solve the nation’s problems along the way.

Terminate the Terminator

I have a better idea and its cheaper!  California should be forced to live within its means, balance its budget, lower taxes, and get rid of the bloat.  If we do that, then we don't have to divide the State into Cantons.  Our legislators are incompetent and overpaid. They do little but talk talk talk. Enough talk. The voters want action.  Terminate the Terminator. Get rid of the useless Major in L.A., get a new Sheriff in O.C., legalize pot so we can generate revenue real quick. And there you have it. Simple really.

Support for 80-20

Besides romancing the stoned, you seem to be endorsing the idea of eliminating 80% of the commissions in California (my obvious preference)  - the question is, where are the lawmakers on this issue?
