RUN AWAY ROBO POLLING!

If you happen to be in either the 1st or the 5th Snohomish Council Districts and reside in a ‘bellwether precinct’ your phone may already be ringing off the hook with ‘robo polls’ by at least three groups trying to determine the best candidates to run in this off year council election. Bellwether precincts are those that historically vote for the winning candidate in various races and in this case the County Council Races by predicting the result in a wider area such as a legislative district or in this case a council district. One observer noted that there has NEVER been this much money spent this early at this level in Snohomish County political history. He was referring to the fact that this type of polling is extremely expensive.

It is clear that there is lot at stake. The Snohomish County Council is now dominated by a couple of far left wing, environmental whackoos being paid for by none other than Seattle Environmental crackpot Paul Brainerd and his idiot creation the former ‘Thousand Friends of Washington’ now called Futurewise. Mike Cooper in the 3rd Council District is not up for re-election but his ‘fellow traveler' Dave Somers is running for re-election in the 5th Council District and so far only a known RINO (Republican in Name Only) Steve Dana has filed to run against Somers. IF Somers were to lose to a Republican that would swing the council back to a moderate political condition with the help of ‘blue dog’ Democrats.   This polling can only mean that some others are thinking about running. In the 1st Council District, Republican conservative John Koster is running against Ellen Hiatt-Watson who is without a doubt the most extreme far left Democrat ever to run for County Council in Snohomish County history. She also is receiving "mucho dinero" from the Paul Brainerd environ-nazi crowd.

Let’s look at the polling being done over in the conservative dominated 5th Council District. It is clear this polling is being done by commercial interests who are seeking to come up with a viable candidate to run as a Republican against Dave Somers. In this polling a couple of names are mentioned including Tom Greene who a couple of years ago narrowly lost in this first ever run in countywide politics to John Lovick and the other name is Mike Hope a newly elected Republican legislator in the 44th Legislative District. The 5th District is in South and East Snohomish County.

Now up North in the 1st Council District late reports indicate that it is Paul Brainerd’s Futurewise that is running polling to see just how far behind Socialist Democrat Ellen Hiatt-Watson is in her race with Republican John Koster. I understand that the polls are not good news for Ellen who is now more than 10 points behind Koster and losing ground. Late this afternoon, word reached me that Koster has brought in an expensive and experienced campaign manager and even in these tough economic times has come up with some impressive money to take on Brainerd’s candidate. Koster has leased a campaign office in Marysville from the cash strapped Snohomish County Republican Party. I understand that over on the ‘socialist side’ of this race that the stock market crash has severely impacted Paul Brainerd and his Brainerd Foundation with the fall in the per share price of Adobe stock which closed on Friday at $28 a share. That’s down from the $50 per share price little more than a year ago. That can only mean a massive downsizing of Brainerd’s net worth of 44%, NOT GOOD! So money is tight over on the Demo side of the fence these days!

This may be an off year election but it sure is going to be a hot one. I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED!
