Senior Citizens are our most precious resource

Targeting Senior Citizens reminds me of the Witch Hunts of Salem. Salem is where mass hysteria ruled the day.

It’s time to once again honor our Senior Citizens, after all where would we be today without them.

I consider myself to be a Junior Senior not quite there yet, work in progress and therefore I feel free to defend this most precious resource.

Like most Junior Seniors I am reminded day after day by the media and talk radio callers that parrot each other discussing the burdens seniors impose on the population. This mindless diatribe has spearheaded a mass hysteria campaign against seniors.

Let the citizens group without sin throw the first stone.

My goal is to drive a stake through the center of the horrible myths seniors face each day.

Screaming over the air waves callers demand that seniors not be allowed to drive on OUR highways, without special testing imposed on them.  As Ronald Reagan would say seniors built those highways young man. The mindless callers scream seniors are increasing the cost of our healthcare programs. President Reagan would again remind them that over the year’s seniors have extended the life of people around the world? They have harmed no one.

We are conditioned to accept euthanasia as a necessary evil in today’s society. This is primitive thinking and we must do better removing price tags.

When we play God, there are penalties that follow; the penalties are known as our own conscience.  A doctor reassuring us that the termination procedures against a loved one at deaths door are proper; that reassurance does not make it proper.

We tend listen to caregivers as they attach a price tag on how long a person should live. This is a terrible solution; it is an escape route that will long be remembered.

Have we forgotten our Veterans defending life around the world at the risk of their own lives? They placed no price tags on anyone. Should we place a price tag on them?

What about Policemen & Fire Fighters placing their lives at risk everyday? And we shouldn’t forget the scientist that developed life saving drugs or the doctors that kept us alive for so many years?

There is no price tag high enough for terminating human life; every child is a child of God and therefore priceless.

We demand immediate answers to problems; answers that we seldom question.  This allows everyone to stop thinking and continue living life as usual; problem solved.

Medical savings should not be about pulling the plug on anyone it should be about simplification and the elimination or reduction of frivolous law suits as well as waste, fraud and abuse. We need to renew the value of life that was discarded during this downward slide that we have recently experienced over the past fifty years. The value of life came into question the day that we said abortion is okay.

Why has a government that cares so much ignored frivolous law suits along with waste, fraud and abuse? They stood by watching the cost of healthcare move beyond the reach of the average American. They understood high cost healthcare would place mom and dad both in the work place creating a new tax base with both parties contributing. The ridiculous cost increase would open the door to socialized medicine. Socialism phase one had begun. The government understands that socialized medicine will fail, but still believe that providing adequate healthcare to everyone worldwide is more important than privatization here.

Hospitals and doctors have been forced to comply with regulations and procedures similar in scope to the IRS.  Teams of lawyers and CPA’s are needed to understand government demands and as soon as they are understood they are changed.

Many patients receiving free care are without jobs, income, insurance or citizenship.  Does this horror show sound familiar? They are then placed on welfare for life. Is this compassion?

Government managed programs are never managed and are never reasonable. They never consider efficiency they simply increase the price.

Blaming system failures on the last six months of a person’s life is condemning the innocent. We can fix healthcare problems by removing the government as the decision makers and turning their responsibilities over to the private sector. The government may need to be involved but they should never chart the course.

Attacking senior drivers is also discriminatory; we can attack any group witnessing the same results or outcome. Seniors are safe drivers why else do they enjoy reduced rates on auto insurance?  Instead of placing burdens on seniors, investigate the reckless drivers with high insurance rates. Charts are available showing seniors as very safe drivers even though they share the same difficulties other age group’s face. You can’t condemn a group of citizens; otherwise where will it end.

What about the non-citizen drivers new to the United States that are arrested time and again with no license, no registration and no insurance. Here long enough to have an extended rap sheet. You will find their stories on page 16 of your local newspaper while senior drivers are Breaking News Headlines for seven days on every

T. V. in America.

Seniors are courteous drivers. I am always relieved when merging into traffic and the person giving me a pass is a senior citizen; I know they do not consider my entrance as a threat or challenge to their masculinity.

We can learn a great deal from Senior Citizens they have so much to offer.  Most seniors are at peace with themselves even though they are spending a great deal of time on their own battlefields or that of a loved one. The goal of seniors is to leave a better world behind; they are not focusing on a particular agenda but instead a better life for everyone during their brief visit to planet earth.

It is very true, but sometimes they can be dangerous behind the wheel because of reflexes.

Special laws for Senior Drivers

Most Seniors will compensate for reaction timing by slowing down and driving sensibly. There are young people on pot 24/7 that are a little slow as well. When we start judging drivers by age one has to wonder which group will be next, Jews, Catholics? Have you ever tried to exit a church parking lot on Sunday morning? On a more serious note our judicial system is based on idividuals not groups that are diferrent than we are.

If you believe seniors always

If you believe seniors always enjoy cheaper rates on auto insurance than the young drivers you are not absolutely righth. There are companies, that specialize in policies for the young and inexperienced drivers and by treating such drivers as a separate class, the risk and premiums are spread more fairly So even youngpeople could obtain a rather <a href="http://www.car-insurance-4u.com">cheap auto insurance</a> if they do a little research.

Mr.Black, may be some

Mr.Black, may be some companies do specialize in policies for the young and inexperienced drivers, but they can't make the auto insurance premiums as low as or lower than in policies for senior people....
