See how your city wants to (ab)use stimulus money

Fiscal watchdog Francine Verbarg pointed me to stimulus watch, a great site to see how local officials are pursuing fiscal stimulus money.
The site was started by a non-partisan group including academics at George Mason University ( home of the economics blog Marginal Revolution) to track requests for stimulus money. The site also allows the public to annotate, comment, and vote on these projects.
For example, Irvine has requested four projects. Eighty three per cent of the site visitors voted that "Convert I-Shuttle buses to natural gas or hydrogen" is a bad idea, thereby proving random web commenters have better fiscal sense than Irvine's city council. Check out the city-by-city list. What do you think is the best use of stimulus money on the list? the worst? the funniest?

Irvine, with a Democratic mayor and Progressive Council majorty, requested 4 projects for a total of $16 million.
But Anaheim, which has a Republican council majority and mayor, has requested funding for considerably more projects and an allocation of nearly $447 million.
But will we have any criticism of the Curt Pringle Machine?
