BACK IN THE USSA

By SD 411 | 11/05/08

Well Comrades, as I sit here in the post election aftermath clinging to my guns, religion, and provisional ballots, I survey the political landscape to find order in the chaos. As feared, the Obama tidal wave crashed ashore in the East and didn't stop until the damage reached San Diego.  The unanswered question is now answered, 'how far down the ticket would the Obama phenomenom go?" Well, now we know - right to the bottom. From... read more »

Polling Underway in the 78th Assembly District

By SD 411 | 10/16/08

California Opinion Survey is in the field with a quick poll in the 78th Assembly District.  Apparently the pollster asks if you prefer the questions in Spanish or English.  Can't vouch for the accuracy of the poll after the first few questions. It asks if  California is on the right track or 'terribly' wrong." It also asked if a Republican majority would be bad for the state but does not asks about the current Democratic... read more »

Goldsmith Flying High

By SD 411 | 10/12/08

The Chargers weren't the only ones flying high at Qualcom stadium Sunday night. A large banner touting the candidacy of City Attorney Candidate, Jan Goldsmith could be seen flying the friendly skies above the crowd of more than 75,000 fans.  With just three weeks left in the hotly contested campaign, the candidates are looking high and low to get the word out.  Chargers faithful in the know have little regard for the current City... read more »

Faulconer Teams with Atkins to Impose Building Limits

By SD 411 | 07/08/08

Steve Francis spent millions claiming special interest run city hall, but you would not have known it on Tuesday afternoon as Councilman Kevin Faulconer joined Donna Frye, Tony Atkins and most of the San Diego City Council in imposing a building height limit for the Uptown area. Despite pleas from the San Diego Chamber of Commerce, Realtors, property owners and the building industry that the 'Interim Height Ordinance' was overly... read more »

Sanders vs. Francis: The Phrase That Pays

By SD 411 | 06/04/08

Well, there you have it. After 15 weeks of carpeting bombing television, mail and radio, all Steve Francis has to show for it is fewer votes than his 2005 mayoral bid and fewer dollars in his bank account. So, what got him from here to there to nowhere?  In a phrase,"FU Steve."Jerry Sanders' brutally candid and honest assessment of what he thought about his opponent and how he was running his campaign. That turn of phrase kicked off... read more »

Mayors Debate Yields Few Punches

By SD 411 | 05/22/08

A full slate of Mayoral candidates met on live prime-time television Thursday night with all sides staying on message. Incumbent Jerry Sanders, Millionaire Steve Francis, former San Diego Councilman, Floyd Morrow, Environmentalist, James Hart, and self-declared Anarchist, Eric Bidwell debated for one hour in front of the KUSI cameras at the Mission Valley Church of the Nazarene. Sanders, clearly enjoying the home field advantage from the... read more »

'Permit' This Apology To Candidate Francis

By SD 411 | 04/24/08

A post yesterday that claimed that Mayoral Candidate, Steve Francis failed to have a proper permit for a weekend commercial shoot was wrong. This blogger, along with every other RCSD contributor takes this task seriously and strives to provide factually accurate information to the readers. It serves no purpose to just make things up (we leave that to the left wing bloggers). In any event, this blogger got it wrong and... read more »

Francis Stiffs City On Permit During Latest TV Shoot (UPDATED)

By SD 411 | 04/24/08

UPDATE 04/24/2008: From Scott Graves, Editor-in-Chief The suggestion in this post by "SD411" that the Francis campaign was operating without a permit appears to be factually wrong. See the approved permit below. ORIGINAL POST: 04/23/2008 @ 18:13:29It was lights, camera, action at a city owned public park on Saturday as the Steve Francis for Mayor Campaign set up shop to apparently shoot a new TV commercial. Francis, and his production crew... read more »

Jacob Stays Put At Board of Supervisors

By SD 411 | 02/23/08

Responding to a rumor making the rounds over the past few weeks, County Supervisor Dianne Jacob has no plans to shift gears and run for the 52nd Congressional District being vacated by Duncan Hunter. The Jacob for congress chatter got the attention of several 52nd candidates due to her popularity in the district and sizable campaign bank account.  Word is she's not interested in being one of 435 representatives and in the minority... read more »
