Florida Energy Security Bill Moving Thru the Legislature
By Dr. Richard Swier | 03/13/09 | 05:37 PM EDT | 0 Comments
I recieved the following e-mail from Republican Representative Larry Cretul, District 22, Speaker of the Florida House. It is welcome news and I hope our federal government releases all of Florida's coast line for oil and gas exploration and extraction.
House Memorial Bill 21, sponsored by Representative McKeel, urges Congress to support the expiration and removal of prohibitions against the exploration and production of oil and natural gas in the federal waters surrounding Florida, as well as include Florida in revenue sharing that may result from those activities.
It has been referred to the Energy and Utilities Policy Committee, the General Government Policy Council, and the Rules and Calendar Council, and I assure I will keep your concerns in mind throughout the legislative session. In addition, as this legislation encourages action at the federal level, I would suggest contacting your United States Representative and your United States Senators, Bill Nelson and Mel Martinez.
Again, thank you for writing to me. If I may be of assistance to you in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Larry Cretul
Speaker
