If the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) were my student, I would give them an "F" in "Anti-Jihad Studies."

How does this extremely significant Conservative Conference, at one of the most significant moments in American history, gather 9,000 action-oriented leaders, over four days, in our Nations Capitol, and not have ONE serious back-room session (let alone a main session) that addresses the radical Islamist, stealth Jihad, sharia focused issues facing all Americans?
 
If you want a detailed answer to this question, follow the BLOGS (particularly Red County!) next week and I'm sure you will read some in-depth, amazing explanations for this disturbing situation. One of the prevailing theories is that some of those involved with CAPC have a pro-Islamist slant and do not want to confront the agenda of the radical militant Muslims at this conference.
 
As I mentioned in my first post on Thursday, Dr. Rich Swier, Red County Sarasota, asked me cover CPAC for Red County, because I was going to be here dealing with anti-jihad issues, especially the international controversy surrounding Dutch Parliamentarian Geert Wilders.

Wilders is the maker of the extremely contentious film about radical Islam, FITNA. His government of the Netherlands has filed criminal charges against him for violating "hate-speech" laws and now, this Member of the Netherlands Parliament, has to defend himself against his own government because he has criticized a religion! If America followed the same approach (and we are heading in this direction) then anyone who criticizes any Muslim, Christian or Jewish beliefs would find themselves in violations of federal law!

Didn't we already go through this in 1620, at a Rock called Plymouth?

Thursday and Friday (Feb 26, 27) were definitive days in U.S. history for those who value FREE SPEECH, and believe free speech and the corresponding ability to criticize religion and politics is the basis of a just and fair society. Thursday afternoon, on Capitol Hill, Geert Wilders screened his movie, FITNA, to an overflowing room of elected officials, and key staff members. This screening was sponsored by Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ)...and boy, oh, boy...are the folks at CAIR really mad! They are so mad that they asked the newly-appointed Attorney General of the United States, Eric Holder, to help them STOP the showing of FITNA and let them come to Washington to explain that there are really only about two or three Muslim terrorists and all this anti-jihad stuff is really hate-speech and Islamophobia!

Friday morning found Geert Wilders speaking at the National Press Club to a packed out group of journalists and national leaders. Friday evening, (against the desires of many in leadership at CPAC) Geert Wilders came as the invited guest of (Red County Blogger) Pamela Geller (www.atlasshrugs.com), (Author/Blogger) Robert Spencer (www.jihadwatch.org) and long-time anti-jihad activist, David Horowitz (http://www.frontpagemag.com/) to a room that was originally reserved for Horowitz to use for his organizational purposes. In that CPAC would NOT let Wilders speak at this massive conservative conference, Horowitz gave up his room to let Wilders "speak freely" within a conference where he was not allowed to speak..at all!?

Are you Red County folks getting this? Currently, the most controversial guy in the world, on FREE SPEECH matters, was not allowed to speak as an official guest, of the largest conference in the world that prides itself on FREE SPEECH!?

Well, due to the principled determination of a small group unconcerned about stepping on very soft toes that slither around Washington, the Geert Wilders show went on! And what a show it was.

In one of the smaller, side ballrooms, the fire marshals had to turn away scores of people because of the overflowing, standing-room only crown that came to hear Wilders and see his film, FITNA. In fact, in a bizarre moment, after running out of the ballroom to use the men's room, I was denied re-entrance by the police guarding the doors because there was no more room inside!
 
It could have been one of those, "do you know who I am," moments, but I just made a phone call to Frank Gaffney who came to the door and dragged me back inside!
According to everyone in attendance (except a few agitated Muslims) the evening was a rip-roaring success for the solidification of speech, flowing freely, regardless of political or religious "correctness."

Later today I will cover the never controversial Ann Coulter and El Rushbo himself as they close out a Conference that - BUT FOR - the Wilders fiasco, would have gotten an A+ from Professor Trento!
