AAH TO CALL FOR COUNTIES TO REMOVE HAMAS-AFFILIATED CAIR ADS PLACED ON PUBLIC BUSES
(Fort Lauderdale, FL) On Friday, January 16th, at 12:00 Noon, Americans Against Hate (AAH) will be holding a rally against CAIR and Hamas, in front of the Broward County Commission building, to push Broward and Dade to remove hate messages placed on 120 county public buses. The messages were purchased by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a group that was founded by operatives from Hamas and which, according to the United States Justice Department, has continued to be associated with Hamas.
One of the statements on the buses reads, "ISLAM: The Way of Life of Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad." AAH has called the messages offensive to both Jews and Christians, as they imply that Abraham, Moses and Jesus - revered figures in Judaism and Christianity - were practicing Muslims and are solely part of Islam.
At the rally, AAH will make note of the fact that the CAIR messages or advertisements ran during the religious holidays of Christmas and Hanukkah. AAH will also make note of the fact that Hamas, this month, called for attacks on Jews throughout the world.
AAH Chairman Joe Kaufman and others had previously asked that the messages be removed on the grounds that they were offensive and that they were purchased by a terror-related group, but the Broward Transit department refused to do so.
The speakers at the rally will include AAH Chairman Joe Kaufman, Rabbi Andrew Jacobs of Ramat Shalom - Plantation, Pastor O'Neal Dozier of the Worldwide Christian Center, Rabbi Schneur Kaplan of the Downtown Jewish Center Chabad, WFTL radio talk show hostess Joyce Kaufman, Mayor Jim Naugle, and other religious and community leaders. All are invited to join.
When: Friday, January 16, 2008, 12:00 Noon
Where: Outside the Broward County Commission building, at 115 S. Andrews Ave., in Downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Please bring your American flags. All signage will be provided by Americans Against Hate.
