Bush Bashing and Rocking Chairs

Ellen Goodman from the Washington Post writes an editorial that was printed in the Sarasota Herald-Tribune titled, "From rocking chair, Bush won't see wreckage he left behind". The article is pure Bush bashing.

One of our great readers Lillian Iannarone sent us this commentary on the article:

Yes, George W. Bush is still our president and as a sitting president he deserves respect.  Apparently Ms. Goodman you feel you must be disrespectful when you disagree.

Republicans and Christians just don't appear to deserve any respect these days.  Evidently that is what the world of journalism has come to.

The shambles you speak of Ms. Goodman started way before this Bush administration:

Clinton in 1999 was the one that eased the mortgage lending policy, which Democrats Barney Franks & Christopher Dodd were supposed to be overseeing.

If Clinton left FEMA in better shape Katrina would have been handled better in spite of the incompetent major & governor.

Clinton was the one that did nothing while our embassies and military were being attacked and that emboldened the terrorists.

Clinton's CIA was not prepared for the WTC disaster which was in the planning for Four Years!

Our 43rd president kept you safe since 9/11.

He sent more medical aid and money to Africa than anyone else in the world.

He established a democracy in Iraq keeping us safe and got rid of Saddam who killed hundreds of thousands of his own people.

Remember the economy was great until the Democrats took over Congress in 2006, guess that slipped your mind.

Since you wrote, "there is no do-overs", lets hope President Obama walks on water.  Our Presidents have only been human beings and none were perfect, but I'd say George W. Bush will be remembered well in history.  Sorry you don't see it that way!
