Santa Ana Planning Commissions 30 minute study session

This evening the Santa Ana Planning Commission will meet in a "Study Session", which according to their posted Agenda, gives the Planning Commission an opportunity to study complicated issues prior to making a decision.
Really?
30 whole minutes to "study" more than 18 Million dollars worth of redevelopment dollars being used on roughly 7 acres of prime land in Santa Ana? And the person giving the 30 minute presentation is from the City Managers office, not the Director of Public Works or one of his senior planners.
Just my opinion, but this is another poor start to yet another of Santa Ana City Hall's poorly executed and designed ideas. At the very least they should be doing massive amounts of outreach and community presentations. They failed to do so with the Rennaisance Plan, and they are going down the same path with the Station District.
If you desire to participate in this "study session", arrive at Santa Ana City Hall/Ross Annex, Room 1600 at 5:30 PM tonight.

|I have to disagree Thomas, I went to 4 days of the charrette, two more neighborhood meetings and a bitch session hosted by Lou Correa. There werea number of others I didn't attend. To be fair, there were ample opportunities to participate.
I believe that at this time there is nothing to review or share with the public. We will have to see if this developer is forthcoming with his plans. We have had some promises..........

|On a related topic - the Aug. 25th SA City Council Study Session meeting concerning the Station District
WHY would the SA City Council hold such an important meeting under a "Special Meeting" circumstance, at noon on a weekday, with only 24 hours notice to the general public?
I attended this meeting. It was obvious that the participants - City Council members and members of the various organizations had much more prior notice of this meeting than the general public received.
Why not hold the Study Session at 3:00 pm on a day coinciding with a regular council meeting; with a respectful (rather than minimum) notice to the public?
It was stated at the meeting that the City Council wants to "reach out to the community" and by that get a "buy in" to the process by the residents, property owners and businesses of Santa Ana.
The scheduling and arrangements for this City Council Study Session meeting were not a good start towards reaching out to the community.
