The Proposition 8 campaign group in Carlsbad put out 150 campaign signs along the streets and  quickly reported over half of them had been removed the first day the signs were allowed to be put up.  Prop. 8 is the statewide initiative banning gay marriage.  Laurie Haslam, a Carlsbad team leader said only 6 or 7 signs were left.  The theft was reported to police.

As usual, those who claim "tolerance" are extremely intolerant when it comes to differing opinions.  Wishful thinking - maybe people took them to put on their front yards (yeah right.).

Police are investigating the incident.  Stealing campaign signs carries a fine of up to $1,000.
