Attention Boling Campaign

Posted by: North Pole | 08/04/2008 5:05 PM

Straight out of the Marti Emerald for City Council campaign: Marti's campaign team knows they have "a serious Republican problem". She will now be walking Navajo Republicans with a new walkpiece called "Footprint" that makes her sound considerably more Republican. It actually says (paraphrased) that she is against new taxes! She was out there today people... so heads up!

She walked up to our house a couple hours ago with the footprint thing... then skipped a couple houses and walked up to another house then I lost track of her.

From the short conversation she obviously knew I was a Republican and was trying to win me over (with very little luck!). What is funny is two days ago some young people were at my door with a flyer that showed how liberal Marti was and I had it on the coffee table and I think Marti might have seen it!

Thats funny.

Fighting DDD on the ground is like challenging Clint Eastwood to a duel, you're gonna loose. Even if you don't like the guy or his "crew", you have to admit he is good at grassroots door to door campaigns.

Why would Emerald - if she has 'Republican troubles' - chose to walk and spend hours contacting people who voted against her once, and will probably do so again? And I havent seen the 'footprint' but I would think that it would not be wise for her to again put her foot in her mouth by taking positions contrary to her previous positions.

Yep, that's Duane: "Go ahead, make my day."

Guys out in the campaigns today, like Puetz, Oh, "LK" Hansen, and Clumpner would have run circles around me on the ground in my prime. Today, it would be like getting lapped running the half mile -- embarrasing.

The strategy is for Emerald to personally talk to quite possibly thousands of Republican voters, motivated largely by the presidential election, and who voted against her just a couple months ago in droves, and get them to switch sides?

This isn't a strategy. This is ego, pure and simple. It's Emerald believing she is still somehow well loved and 'popular' among voters who didnt vote for her. I doubt it. I doubt it very much.

I was at the Colina Park Light Out event last night. You nmight want to tell Boling and DDD they should of dressed down for the event - and they should have talked to some of us folks that attended. Boling just stood their and looked down on us -never mingled and chatted - what's with that? She too good for us in City Heights?

Funny, I wasn't even aware Mr.DDD was in San Diego.

Here is a tip for the Boling campaign, if you want to cut into Marti's parrot vote. I would bet that Marti and her parrot will not miss this event:

"Gulliver Macaw's Celebration of Life"

Gulliver, an American-born blue and gold macaw, was stranded in South Pacific after a shipwreck in 2007. He's being released from USDA quarantine on August 7. Sybil Erden hosts picnic party before Gulliver travels to new home at Oasis Sanctuary in Arizona. 602-793-7967.

hey, Marti Emerald on TV! you should be ashamed of yourself. I realize that you can't beat Marti at the polls, but this just shows how low the Boling Campaign will go to throw mud. Go back to your gutter and leave the campaign for a discussion of issues instead of this baloney!

We had an election. April beat Marti. Does no one remember that?

Lets all celebrate the deep insight from this posting stream. About three months out and anything can happen between now and then.

Is that what Marti's people were saying three months prior to the primary?

...or was she the inevitable candidate?
