McClintock Endorses Duncan D. Hunter

That headline wouldn't be the biggest news in the world if not for the fact that the senior Hunter, meaning the current 52nd District Congressman, is supporting Doug Ose for the 4th District seat. As readers may know, Tom McClintock is running for that seat as well.
So, apparently, despite Hunter-the-dad's support for his opponent, McClintock is willing to put it aside to support the younger Hunter?
Insiders say it's not quite that complex. Congressman Hunter endorsed Ose two weeks prior to McClintock joining the fray, I am told. McClintock apparently understood Hunter's endorsement of Ose as support for a former colleague, not as an anti-Tom sentiment.
So, in the final analysis, no grudges held, and McClintock is supporting the individual in the open 52nd contest he prefers will join him in Congress.
The release:
Senator Tom McClintock Endorses Duncan D. Hunter for Congress
Backing of Leading Fiscal Conservative Adds to Momentum of Campaign(El Cajon, CA) -- State Senator Tom McClintock, largely regarded as one of the state's leading fiscal conservatives; has endorsed Duncan D. Hunter for Congress. The endorsement comes as another sign that the Hunter for Congress campaign is in the strongest possible position.
In making the endorsement, Senator McClintock said, "Duncan D. Hunter is exactly the kind of leader we need in Congress. His commitment to lower taxes, less government spending and his fiscal conservatism are all reasons I strongly support him and his campaign."
"I'm proud to have the support of Senator McClintock. His work on behalf of taxpayers in California has been never-yielding and always vigilant. I look forward to working closely with him in the future," said Duncan D. Hunter.
Both Duncan D. Hunter and Senator McClintock are candidates this year for United States Congress. Senator McClintock is running for the 4th Congressional District in Northern California to replace Congressman John Doolittle, who is retiring.
Duncan D. Hunter is running to succeed his father, Congressman Duncan Hunter, who is not running for re-election. For more information, please visit www.HunterForCongress.com.

UT Special Report on Duncan D. Hunter:
http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/politics/20080529-9999-1n29hunter.html
The article in today's UT on Duncan D. Hunter and his father opened my eyes...enough is enough...I'm disgusted with the squandering of our tax dollars for projects that are pushed by our retiring Congressman. I wonder why the article didn't mention that Trex is a company that was founded by Rep. Duncan Hunter's brother?
I'm in total agreement with the following statements in the article...
“The current pork barrel and earmark system gets us bridges to nowhere . . . planes that don't fly, and leads to waste, fraud and corruption,” Jones said.
“I think the Department of the Navy should determine whether they want to spend money on (something), not some rogue congressman,” Watkins said.
As far as I'm concerned, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Ohh please...hold your drama! Wouldn't expect anything less from the UT.
nice endorsement...too bad 95% of the bloggers on the UT are trashing him and Sr both...lincoln club connections are really paying off. Thanks Bob Kittle.
Has anyone noticed Santee looks like the Brian Jones circus rolled through town??!! I feel for those people...they must have nightmares by now!
Hey Enough, I mean Brian Jones. Your little antics aren't working. The Robert Hunter you keep faxing to us media as being related to either Duncan Hunters isn't! Boy how do you amateur journalists feel NOW!
Do you think you will ever have a chance in any future elections when the new Congressman endorses your competition EVERYTIME!
Good luck trying to EVER be friends with the Hunters again.
And good job throwing the finger to Ronald Reagan by disrespecting his 11th commandment.
What ever happened to your promise of running a clean race all of us heard you say in debates? It's just like everything else everyone has learned about you from this race. You will lie and break the law whenever you can!
What is the worst part is all the business owners in Santee who have said you and your supporters remind them of tyrants threatening to have the city council come down on them if they don't put up a sign in their business. That is the reason you don't have any support in any other cities. You can't threaten them.
I'll say what everyone will know on Tuesday night. You're a loser!
Which of Duncan Hunter's brothers founded Trex Enterprises? Just curious.
Hi...I'm 31...Vote for me...I'm entitled to the 3/4 of a million that was handed to me. My father worked hard for it. I won't let earmarks to my uncle's company or any of my other friend's companies influence where I stand. TRUST ME...I'll be ethical.
Readers: The comments by "Enough" and "Phooey" are by the same individual, with the same ISP address, using different handles. Take note that the person had to have seen the question directed to him/her asking which of Congressman Hunter's brothers founded Trex.
Yet, the commenter -- instead of answering the question -- ignores it and posts a similar allegation using a different handle. Obviously, then, no intention of answering the question.
I will ask it this time: PLEASE TELL US WHICH OF HUNTER'S BROTHERS FOUNDED TREX, AS YOU ALLEGE?
Readers, please note that this is the same allegation that one of the campaigns was trying to sell to the Hedgecock show off the air the other day. The same info was faxed anonymously to the media. Anonymously...no guts to back up the charge.
So, Enough/Phooey, if your charges are true, PLEASE ANSWER THE QUESTION.
If you can't answer the question with facts, please refrain from whispering efforts such as this. I stand ready for your answer.
Just to be clear, if the charges are true, I will post them.
Barry...you know the answer to your question, the author's of the UT article know the answer to your question, yet you choose to ignore it. You also completely ignore the outrageous comments by the person using the handle "Brians never going to be elected again".
I found this site by chance. I was astounded at the mean spiritedness posted under a previous thread against Brian Jones, which you had no problem allowing and continue to allow. I am on no one's campaign. I'm a tax paying citizen who sincerely doesn't believe that a Congressional seat should be a family business, handed down from father to son without due scrutiny. Sarcasm begets sarcasm.
1) The comment by "Brians never going to be elected again" speaks for itself, as petty and below the level of most readers here. I choose to ignore most such items....and have ignored many outrageous comments against Hunter and others...unless they fall into complete falsehoods and innuendo, such as the personal charge against another candidate in the 52nd yesterday.
If you think I'm ignoring the implication of the Brian commenter, read my advice to Duncan D. this morning:
http://flashreport.org/blog0a.php?postID=2008060110455852&authID=2005110112071864
2) The point is that I don't know the answer to the question. Which is why I am asking. Who is the uncle at Trex? Apparently, you don't have the answer either and have simply chosen to make something up so as to play a whispering campagn game.
If there is an uncle, I will report it!
In the meantime, cowards hide under the cover of night.
