Polling

In San Diego City's District 5 there were at least two polls over the last few days. One tested several negatives on Democrat candidate George George, one several, which is odd (thank you readers for sending me both, or at least what you say is both). There have been also at least two polls going on in District 1 over the last couple days.

I have a neighbor who came over the other day with a flyer that the Unions were passing out in front of the Sellers post office calling Carl a "missing taxpayer" on Tax Day. Talked about tax liens and a suspended business license or something against Carl and directed them to a website. What's the deal with this?
Misinformation and distortions that the unions are using to try to divert attention from Carl's message of reform. And his campaign isn't taking the bait. Sometimes you don't respond even if you know the charge is flat wrong. Carl is dong what he should: talking about balancing the budget, reforming the pension, fixing our roads, and transparency reforms.
There is more than enough time after the election to unmask the union lies.
Carl isn't responding because he will have to explain his tax issues - which have been well documented. Easier to ignore it?
I guess Id ask the union folks who posted under 'Union Flyering' and 'Sure' to first be less obvious, but second to hold Marti Emerald to a similar standard.
I wouldn't say that DeMaio's campaign is doing nothing: "union lies" sounds like he/she is perfectly on message with the crisis management strategy known as subordination.
But this is a good thing for DeMaio. The best case scenario of not responding is a maintenance of the status quo, the worst case scenario is decidedly worse, and there is no potential for gain; only for loss. Contrastingly, if the response is right, his campaign could potentially reverse this attack into a positive gain.
Do tell, D. Morton, what is the right response?
The way I see it:
That seat looks pretty Republican. George George doesnt look strong. The unions would love to do anything to call the dogs off of Marti Emerald... to just distract the right long enough for her to get her feet under her again. That's all this is about. They are trying to stir up trouble and it's not really working because its not well done.
