SAN DIEGO COUNTY (CA):

52nd Forum with All the Candidates

Posted by: Barry Jantz | 04/23/2008 11:20 AM

Next Tuesday may be the only opportunity to hear all the candidates of all parties running for the 52nd Congressional seat in one forum. The annual East County Chamber event is usually a panel discussion with East County's state legislators, Dianne Jacob and Duncan Hunter (and it's always worthwhile), but this year the smart decision was to hear from the candidates. The price includes dinner.

Looking forward to this. After hearing all the candidates, I expect Mike Lumpkin to come out the winner. He's got the best grasp of the issues among all candidates. Last week I heard Jones, Hunter and Powell try to answer questions at the Reagan Center in El Cajon. Not a whole lot of substance and all three had problems answering intelligently on the issues. Never saw that problem with Lumpkin. He's the real deal.
