PRESIDENT OF DEPUTY CITY ATTORNEYS' ASSOCIATION ENDORSES GOLDSMITH TO REPLACE BOSS

(San Diego, CA. - March 28, 2008)   Andrew Jones, President of the San Diego Deputy City Attorneys' Association, today announced his endorsement of Judge Jan Goldsmith to replace Mr. Jones' boss, Michael Aguirre, as City Attorney.

Mr. Jones is an experienced criminal prosecutor and civil litigator. He has practiced law for more than 10 years, all as a deputy city attorney in the San Diego City Attorneys' office.

In explaining his endorsement of Judge Goldsmith, Mr. Jones pointed out that he has no personal animosity toward Mr. Aguirre. He believes that Judge Goldsmith's experience and approach to the office would better serve the people of San Diego and the quality of legal work.

Mr. Jones stated that he wants a thoughtful City Attorney who would not fire lawyers for political reasons. Mr. Jones agrees with Judge Goldsmith's commitment to running the office as a good law firm, without politics or partisanship.

In expressing his appreciation of the endorsement, Judge Goldsmith called Andrew Jones a "courageous man who has put his job on the line for the good of our community. Andrew Jones is an experienced professional who wants to improve the City Attorney's office so that our City can move forward to solve problems."
