By Natalie Wardel, The Daily Transcript
The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA)
announced today its endorsement of San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders for
re-election in 2008.
NECA spokeswoman Karen Prescott said the endorsement comes
from Sanders progress in stabilizing the city's finances, bringing fiscal
accountability to San Diego
and addressing the need to invest in necessary infrastructure.
"Jerry Sanders has earned the right to finish the job he
started. In fact, in light of today's economic challenges, we find it
irresponsible to even consider veering off course into unknown territory," Prescott said.

National Electrical Contractors Association Endorse Mayor Sanders for
Re-Election In 2008
San Diego,
CA- The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) today announced its
endorsement of Mayor Jerry Sanders for re-election in 2008.
Despite being faced with challenges that even he probably
didn't anticipate, Mayor Jerry Sanders has served our city and its people
well. We are reminded that the Mayor
inherited an infrastructure that was crumbling due to years of neglect as well
as a failing credit rating that made it impossible to secure adequate funding
for needed upkeep and repairs. Despite
these obstacles, Mayor Sanders has shown true leadership and has made progress
in stabilizing the city's finances, bringing fiscal accountability to the City
and addressing the need to invest in necessary infrastructure.
Jerry Sanders has earned the right to finish the job he
started.
In fact, in light of today's
economic challenges, we find it irresponsible to even consider veering off
course into unknown territory.
