Sorry Ron, There are No Hidden Paul Votes

Awhile back some Ron Paul supporters became convinced the reason their guy was in single digits was because Paul voters were unlikely to be tethered to a landline. As most folks know, pollsters generally don't call cell-phones. This article WSJ.com - Cellphone Numbers Just Don't Add Much To Political Polling from the WSJ Numbers Guy is probably the best I've seen at explaining the issue.
I'll quibble with the Russian Roulette quote which is clearly unwarranted in light of the ultimate conclusion. I also think Gallup's rejection rate cited here actually is higher. But the article is a great summary of the what pollsters are up against -- not much, really -- and what pollsters are doing related to it. And that's coming from a guy who has been polling for two decades.

Goldwater's slogan when he ran was 'you know he's right' -- which is why signs at his rallies held by the other side often read 'you know he's nuts'.
It's very Orwellian that a lot of establishment Republicans are calling Ron Paul nuts. Whats nuts is what our Republicans in DC have been doing to ruin the party for the past eight years. Ron stands for what the GOP party used to stand for and the big gov. GOPers don't like that one bit.
What they don't like is the fact that he supports views that matter to the electorate and are often in opposition to the financial sponsors that make this party's wheels turn.
Instead of getting different fuel for the engine, the party is still selecting to go with old fashioned kerosene.
