FLETCHER CONTINUES TO GAIN STRONG SUPPORT
Key endorsements and half a million dollars raised in 2007
San Diego, CA - Today the Nathan Fletcher for Assembly campaign announced legislative endorsements and fundraising totals showing his campaign has continued to gain strong support as he heads into the March filing deadline.
The entire San Diego Republican legislative delegation has endorsed Fletcher's candidacy for the 75th district. "Nathan Fletcher is the hardest working candidate I have seen and will be a great addition to our caucus," said Assemblyman Joel Anderson. Assemblymen Joel Anderson, Martin Garrick, and Kevin Jeffries, Assemblywomen Shirley Horton and Mimi Walters, and Senator Dennis Hollingsworth join Assemblyman George Plescia and Senator Mark Wyland in supporting for Fletcher for the State Assembly.
"I am honored to have the support of these legislative leaders. I plan to work hard throughout the campaign this year and hopefully join them next year as we work to tackle the problems facing California," said Fletcher.
In addition to garnering strong endorsements, Fletcher's financial support also continues to be strong. The campaign announced its 2007 fundraising totals showing contributions received in excess of half a million dollars. "It says a lot about a candidate when people are willing to support him financially. This is a big number and shows deep support for Nathan's race," said campaign consultant Duane Dicharia. "Nathan worked very hard in 2007 and shows no signs of letting up in 2008."

This looks like its over...but what if Prop 93 passes does Fletcher run against Plescia?
Fletcher has already said that he will not run against Plescia. Although, Prop 93 isn't doing so well and have a feeling they won't have to worry about it.
I thought Plescia is on the record as saying he wouldn't run for reelection if Prop 93 passed - I believe it was in a UT article.
Even though Fletcher has no opponent (as of right now), it's good to see him working hard and not taking anything for granted.
The guy gets it, is a hard campaigner, and will be a great addition to the San Diego delegation.
The downside of term limits is you lose solid leaders like Plescia. The upside is you gain leaders like Fletcher.
Plescia authored an article in support of Prop 93 (which I oppose) in last week's U-T. On the other hand, he is endorsing Nathan for the 75th. George is hedging his bets but is leaving very gracefully.
Both of these guys are solid and I hope the powers that be can find a way to keep Plescia involved.
