The San Bernardino City Professional Firefighters today endorsed longtime local businessman and decorated Vietnam Veteran Fred Shorett for the City's vacant 4^th Ward Council seat.

 

"Firefighters are supporting Fred Shorett because of his strong commitment to public safety and his many years of service to our community and our nation," said Firefighters Association President Scott Moss.  "He has the maturity and dedication to effectively represent the residents of the 4^th Ward on the City Council."

 

"I'm truly humbled to receive the endorsement of the men and women who put their lives at risk to keep our families and our homes safe," declared Shorett.  "After witnessing city firefighters save my home during a wildfire, I can personally attest to their tremendous bravery under the most hazardous of conditions."

 

"Protecting our citizens is the first and foremost responsibility of city government," continued Shorett.  "As a Councilman, I will work to ensure that public safety services remain San Bernardino's top budget priority."
